Nice views but is it worth the price?

On a cruise ship, we were looking for something to do at the end of the day. We took the tram with a 7 and 9 year old. The views were nice and we enjoyed the free movie at the top... read more

Great views that we just could not get anywhere else. We really enjoyed it, though not much wildlife.

I have taken Tram more than couple of time. It is nice and pretty short ride. There is always a person to tell about Mt Roberts and Juneau history. The view is amazing! For those who are afraid of heights could be difficult, but believe me, it is worth it! Sometimes could be little queue to get into tram, but... More

We hiked up the Mt Roberts trail, enjoyed the views and lunch at the top (expensive!, but tasty), then took the tramway down. The tram is a bit spendy, but it was nice to get down quickly and see everything from above. It's really mostly transportation, not terribly scenic, since it moves so quick. It only took a couple minutes... More

The tramway trip itself was short and not really exciting. But the view from the top is absolutely stunning. A must see experience. You can also hike to get there and than hike even more if you wish. At the top there is a restaurant a real bald eagle in a cage for visitors to see. The eagle has been... More

Mt Roberts tram doesn't go up as far as you would think but it is worth it. Great souvenirs and hiking trails at the top. Some wildlife if you visit early enough in the day. We walked through many ptarmigans and they had no fear of us. The ships were obscured by clouds. Plan your visit time carefully.

When the ship docked early in the morning there was some low clouds. Thankfully after our few hours spend at Mendenhall and then grabbing lunch the skies cleared. The trip up is quick and they have a really nice set-up up on the mountain. Food and gifts are available. There is a great hiking trail system as well, with a... More

On a cruise ship, we were looking for something to do at the end of the day. We took the tram with a 7 and 9 year old. The views were nice and we enjoyed the free movie at the top about the native people. There was a gift shop and restaurant but not much up there. It was nice... More

Took the tram ride as part of a cruise excursion package. Obviously, it did not help that it was cloudy and pouring rain, as the views at the top were only of the cruise ships. Regardless, there is not enough at the top to justify the cost of the ride. There was a little restaurant with a basic priced-for-tourist menu,... More

When in Juneau you should take a ride on the tramway to the top of Mount Roberts, especially if it's a clear day.
