Alaskan sized adventure! This is it, the world's largest zip-line: 5,330 feet long, 1,300 foot vertical drop, 60 mph maximum speed, 300 feet highest point from ground, 1.5 minute ride time! If you are looking for true adventure then the ZipRider is for you. Unlike anything you've seen before the ZipRider cable ride at Icy Strait Point is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Your adventure begins when you board your bus for the ride to the top the mountain. Your driver will narrate as you pass through the village of Hoonah and then up the mountainside. Once on top you will take a short walk to the launching area. At 1,300 feet above sea level you will sit into a special harness seat and await your launch. Six guests launch at once, and it is a race to the bottom! 3, 2, 1 and you're off, accelerating to 60 mph as you pass 300 feet above the treetops. If your eyes are still open you will see sweeping views of Port Frederick, Icy Strait and your cruise ship far below. Your ZipRide concludes with a break-activated landing on the beach back at Icy Strait Point.Participants must be between 90 and 275 pounds and be comfortable with heights. This ride is not recommended for individuals with back or neck problems, or who are pregnant. Photos will be available at the end of your ride!

All staff very friendly. The bus driver to the top was entertaining and full of great local lore. Launch crew were great. The road we had to walk down to the platform was fairly steep and somewhat slick because it was misting. Moderate level of fitness for footing. Read the sign before you get strapped in. There is a very... More

We almost didn't do this. We had already been ziplining in Juneau earlier in our cruise, and it seemed pretty expensive for a single 90-second ride. I'm so glad we changed our minds! This experience is very different from regular ziplining! All five of us got to go down at one time as there are 6 lines, and 90 seconds... More

The bus trip up the mountain, was excellent. Great scenery, and the thrill of the ride down to the bottom exhilarating, and thrilling. Great easygoing tour people to settle you into the harness, and humorous. An experience to be had when in the area.

I am 75 years of age(I couldn't decide whether to write young or old) and was bullied by my Wife to do this ride. Am I glad she bullied me. The staff at the top of the ride were extremely professional in everything they did, and once the gate was opened and the ride started, what an experience..... I absolutely... More

Had a group of six so getting to do the ride as a group was great. About a thirty minute bus ride up the mountain. Our driver was very entertaining and we were escorted for a while by a large bear. Got some good pics of him and some bald eagles. Although a bit rainy, they supplied googles for all... More

Fantastic feeling but very scary.... especially the anticipation and right up to when they release the "gate". Well worth it though and great views. The bonus is the guide in bus that explains a bit about the local area and stops a couple of times for photos and the views. My advise would be to NOT take your camera or... More

This is well worth it. The guides and staff are friendly and informative, and the ride is thrilling enough for the adventure seeking, as well as sedate enough that even the elderly can be talked into it. Can't recommend it enough.

We felt like we had to do it and there really isn't much else to do. For the four of us, it was $595 for 90 seconds. It was cool but not that cool. Can't use the word fun. We have done the "superman" before in Costa Rica with a ton of platforms for a lot cheaper so this pales... More
