Such a cute little place. You can see wheals easily swimming around, sometimes even couple of them. You can walk to another city on feet. Zipline ride is amazing too. All the restaurants has a good quality food. Shrimps, halibut, salmon.... Really great place to visit

We stopped here while on a cruise. Our group split up and did different things, I did the kayak tour they offer. The tour was nice, we got to see some wildlife and enjoy the scenery. The village has a little "mall" with different stores and even restaurants.

I'm not a big fan of cruising, but it was the best way to see the inside passage for an initial visit. I don't care much for the days at sea and would much rather port and explore a land destination. Icy Strait Point recently opened their dock, so the ship doesn't have to tender passengers back and forth. As... More

Icy Strait Point is mostly owned by the Tsinglit nation with financial investment from private investors. Originally, it was a salmon canning factory and they still demonstrate the method for canning salmon that is used. We purchased some canned salmon and it was the best canned salmon we've ever eaten. The gift shoppes were full of amazing hand made items,... More

Our cruise ship docked at the converted cannery on Icy Strait Point and offered a number of excursions. We selected the van tour of the area that included The Tlingit Cultural Presentation. On the tour we enjoyed seeing the local countryside, fishing village, and a Bald Eagle nest with two eaglets quaking as the mother delivered fish to the nest.... More

We enjoyed touring the renovated / converted cannery. Beside the cannery display the site has a couple of local artisans and then gift and jewelry shop it was fun to watch the people on the zip line. You can see the whole cannery in about 40 minutes then any time there will need to be spent on excursions or on... More

There were lots of people venturing away from the port, but apart from one wood carving yard, there is nothing to see. With in the port complex there is enough to see and do, Crab Shack had the most amaizing crabs legs, I'll reveiew that seperately. A museun of the old canning industry to walk through for free, a shop... More
