If coming from Skagway your journey begins with a short walk from the pier...

If coming from Skagway your journey begins with a short walk from the pier where you'll board a high-speed ferry for a 45-minute cruise along North America's longest and deepest fjord to Haines. Enjoy spectacular views and informative commentary from your guide on the wildlife, geology, and beautiful landscape. Watch for whales along the way, as you glide past breathtaking glaciers and cascading waterfalls. Upon arrival in Haines, enjoy a tour of historic Fort Seward before heading to your paddling destination at Chilkoot Lake. This incredible location is home to all five species of Pacific salmon, numerous bald eagles, waterfowl and one of the highest concentrations of brown bears in southeast Alaska! You will be outfitted in the necessary equipment, receive a water-safety briefing, a thorough introduction to kayaking, and then start out onto the water. No previous experience is necessary and the expert guides will quickly make everyone at ease in the kayaks. The triple kayaks are very stable, spacious, and make excellent viewing platforms. Everyone will enjoy the excitement of kayaking in the midst of towering mountains and spectacular scenery. You may also be treated to outstanding bear viewing during the riverside drive to the lake and while paddling. Multiple spawning streams enter the lake and offer frequent bear and eagle sightings. You'll have 1.75 hours to explore by kayak. The location is chosen to provide the best kayaking and wildlife-viewing conditions and there is no better way to fully experience the beauty of Alaska!

Amazing excursion for the adventure seeker! This was my first time ever (60 yrs old) for trying rock climbing and rappelling and I was not disappointed. After a safety briefing, we put on the harnesses and climbing shoes and were introduced to a 90 foot mountain wall. Becka, Chris, and Marco did a great job of talking me through the... More

Had an excellent morning on the lake under the guidance of Chris. We got wet through as it rained the whole time, but oddly enough, it made it even more memorable. Listening to the rain and birds, and nothing else was like heaven. Only 1 tip, wear quick dry clothing!

My family and husband's extended family (12 of us total) did the Adventure Park and Zipline tour in Skagway this summer (June 2016) and we had a BLAST. Our group had a varying age group (our littlest was 8) and extremely varying degree of comfort with an "high ropes" sort of activity. The team of 5 (Rebekah, Christian, but the... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The guides picked us up at Haines and took us on their bus to Chilkoot Lake. They provide the PFD (life jacket), paddles and kayaks. Our group was small, only 8 people and 2 guides. The weather was perfect. We were on the lake for 1-1/2 hours. The salmon were spawning... More

For the adventurous soul, go rock climbing up a sheer cliff with expert & patient instructors. Then rappel down the same sheer cliff for an adrenaline rush! Picked up at the pier by a large van and driven to the Climbing area after a brief stop to take photos of the valley and distant glacier). Even inexperienced adults and children... More

Had no trouble finding crew at the Skagway Dock. Fun zip line, with informative crew of 4 of which I only remember one name (tex). Take a snack with you, or be first in line for snack provided, as they ran out before every participant was served.

Guides were great! Kris is very knowledgeable about plants and geography. Leah is laid back, organized, and knows how to make people comfortable. I walk a couple of miles daily, but wouldn't consider myself an athlete but found the hike easy. Despite the rain this is a great way to see the land up close. Bring a camera, good hiking... More

We stopped at the port in Skagway and were driven to a ferry that took us out to Haines where our Alaska Mountain Guides (Grey, Caroline, Brittany and Sam) picked is up for a bus ride out to Lake Chilkoot. Grey was funny, entertaining & informative on the drive out. The guides talked us through all the safety information and... More

My son and I lucked out on a rainy morning and were the only two on the climbing trip that morning. Bryce drove us there and gave us interesting background on Skagway on the way. Rebekah was our guide at the site and she was very nice, encouraging, safe, and educational. She taught us a few knots as well. We... More

I had the pleasure of going on multiple tours with the AMG group. All three, amazing experiences and a ton of fun! The first was zip lining at AMG's adventure park. Our guides that day, Julia and Bryce. While zip lining in its natural habitat is a blast, Julia and Bryce did a fantastic spicing it up. My friend and... More
