The Visitor Center is first rate and the Junior Ranger program is excellent. The extensive exhibits are worth the trip in and of itself. The movie is good and at the end opens to a view of Portage Glacier iceberg. If you have been to...More

The visitor center is very nice, but it's the surroundings that make this a 5 star attraction. Multiple hiking trails, beautiful Portage Lake, glacial streams, and hanging glaciers surround you in Portage Valley. On a sunny day, it's very easy to spend a half day...More

Nice film about the area. Park Rangers are knowledgeable. Worth going in if you’re in the area. Not worth a special trip to go there

Take the time to listen to all the recordings, look for hidden information, check out insect and animal binoculars and the microscope. The movie is a must see

Nothing special but we were in the area so we stopped by. We did enjoy walking along the lake and took a little hike down one of the back paths. Nice day.

The center is ok with many static/traditional exhibits. The overlook of Portage Glacier was the best part of the center. If you have the opportunity to skip the center and spend more time on the area trails, I would do so.
