The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 meter Polynesian style Vaka Titi ai Tonga.Every morning at 10am Mondays to Saturdays, the sound of the conch shell signals the departure of the Vaka for six hours of lagoon magic. There’s snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing to do before tucking into to an island barbecued lunch of fresh caught ocean fish served on board and accompanied by a full bar service.Visit several motu (small islets) and beach comb at One Foot Island before returning past the old TEAL flying boat base. Impromptu entertainment by the crew will have you tying pareu, weaving coconut leaf plates or humming island tunes. They are always happy to provide snorkelling lessons for first timers.

We were picked up from our resort by the boat and had a fabulous 6 hours on the lagoon. The staff were excellent, including demonstrations of local customs of opening coconuts, sarong tying, dancing, and some local folklore. The BBQ lunch was outstanding, including all local fayre, simply cooked, with tasty salads that were basic but very fresh - perfect.... More

We took our first Vaka Cruise as a young couple back in 1993, and we finally came back to Aitutaki with our two teenage boys in 2017. What can I say, the Aitutaki Lagoon is still one of the most spectacular places on earth, and The Vaka Cruise is the best and a most enjoyable day. The crew are great... More

We recently holidayed in the Cook Islands and took a day trip to Aitutaki and spent the day with the Vaka Cruise. The lagoon was stunning, beautiful location to snorkel with lots of sea life. Lovely buffet lunch and informative local knowledge. Would definately recommend.

A day trip to Aitutaki was excellent. The day was spent swimming, eating and snorkelling. The lagoon is a sight to see. Absolutely breathtaking. We had a great guide named Ali, who sang and told us wonderful stories. Awesome time!!

Their Sunset Cruise that they offer during the festive season is incredible! You head out around 5:30pm, cruise to One Foot Island, and then spend the evening there with music, swimming great company and then return to shore around 10pm. The blue LED's that illuminated the water around the canoe made for an exciting swim when the sun had gone... More

Truly the beautiful lagoon i have ever seen, crystal clear waters alive with coral and fish, magnificent clean white beaches on picturesque coconut palm islands. Food onboard was bbq yellowfin tuna and salads which went down a treat. Onboard demonstrations and guides with humour and a very freindly staff. Bucket list ticked.

This tour is a must for everyone and the food was amazing. In spite of reading in weather forecasts it would be raining we had 30 seconds of rain and a sunny day. The area is stunning and untouched you feel like the only person there. The price is outstanding for what you get. Note that i booked it not... More
