We visited on a rainy Saturday. My husband and I were the only ones in our tour. Shelby cheerfully led the way along the 2/3 mile path to the end of the line. To say that this cavern is beautiful is an understatement. It was unreal. A must do if you are in the area. The pictures could never do... More

Cathedral caverns is a remarkable experience. The cave is HUGE!! I mean huge. And when they turn off the lights, wow. It is a paved walk, and very easily accessible for all age groups and abilities. There is camp grounds available, a gift store, and that's about it. I would drive in to visit and stay somewhere in Guntersville, but... More

Beautiful Caverns, great tour. Loved the walk into the Cavern. Campground is very lacking. Only 5 spots with electric and water.

Had a great time here. We have visited a few caverns across the US. This one is probably the largest and easiest to traverse. Huge walking paths that are set in concrete make for easy waking, wheelchair and even golf card accessible exploration. Some people might get a little out of breath exiting the caverns but there are many places... More

After many years of private ownership, Alabama purchased cathedral caverns in 1987. Alabama opened the caverns to the public in 2000, making it the newest and therefore less known state park. The caverns are known for their massive opening which is one of the world's largest for a commercial cave. Highlights in the caverns include, but are not limited to,... More

This is a must see cavern. The history is very interesting and the views are beyond expectations. It is a little tough going with some steep sloops on the walkways, but well worth it. The park doesn't seem to offer much more than just the cavern, but it is so worth the trip.

One of the best caves in Alabama. This cave was closed for years but has now re-opened and is more interesting than ever> you can still see the trail that we walked in the early 1980's. This is a safe and fun place to visit!

Thank Tammybs
