We discovered this small Plaza by chance while we going through the China Town. This place is much more quiet than other places. The modern art was interesting.

The plaza (square) is located just next to the Chinatown Arch in "Chinatown area of San Jose. It is right in front of the Inglesia Nuestra Señnora de la Soledad. An interesting place to see the displays of art works of different artists. The plaza...More

There is an interesting Chinese gate nearby. Yet another square near another church. We were lucky enough to go by when there was a small concert going on. Photographed some statues and a " circular reddish open looped tunnel" and visited the church.

Plaza de las Artes is indeed a town square in front of a church with a small copse of trees for a park and a haphazard collection of modern sculptures for an outdoor exhibition. Probably not worth a special visit but as it is only...More

Does anyone remember The Time Tunnel tv show? The red circular sculpture reminded me of the show. You have to hand it to city council for trying to install public works of art but try and get tasteful ones! There is a very nice church...More

Very few art pieces am concrete and a few uncomfortable benches. Even Lennon looks sad.. today with color smeared in his face. The only upside is the beautiful church which is located right next to it.

Nice little park in the middle of downtown San Jose, at the very entrance of the so-called Chinatown part of town. Nice and calm with some public art displayed it gets full of families on Sundays. Not a great idea to visit late at night...More

Metal circles placed in a row. The inevitable sculpture of a sizeable lady, this time with a banjo. A bust of an artist. John Lennon sitting on a bench. Not a lot of art on the plaza de las Artes.

It is a cozy and nice square with some beautiful arts and near to a cathedral and also Chinatown. Take your time sit on a bench, eat your ice creme, and enjoy the sun.

Small place, not much to do other than seating with Lenon to have an ice cream, Oh yes, visit it and you'll see.
