Great stop in the middle of the jungle. It has a ranger station with WC, drinking water and advice of what to search for. We strongly recommend to avoid the upper part of the park as we visited it 3 times and didn´t see a...More

As I understand it, this is the only national park in Costa Rica in which there is a road for passengers to drive through. It will lead you to the Irazú Volcano, Sarapiqui river, trams, zip lining, river rafting, restaurants, shops, villages and farms along...More

We enjoyed getting close to nature and taking the tram ride. It took -1/2 hours on the ride. Difficult for someone suffering from a bad back, but very beautiful. We also saw the Butterfly Conservatory and the beautiful flowers.

One of our favorite spots in Costa Rica, we began and ended our stay with hikes in this park. Make sure to hike trails on both sides of the freeway.

We took a bus journey from San Jose to our meeting point for the boat trip to our lodge in Tortuguero, and there was so much to see all the way along on the bus.
