If you want to explore part of San Jose on foot this is a good place to start. Depending on how adventurous you are, it is also a good place for a very inexpensive local meal or just a drink. Don't rush through. Sit down...More

It's all the same stuff, mostly cheap trinkets you don't need. There are some local food counters but you'll probably enjoy the street restaurants more.

It has little or no 'arts & crafts', not really a Flea market at all. Quite small, a few very narrow passages. Basically, it just sells low-end cheap street food. Dirty & Hot. You'll be there 10 minutes and wish you hadn't bothered.

Enjoy this as a local would. See it with their eyes. Very friendly people encouraging you to make a purchase, not angry if you don't, they even recommend their neighbors if they don't have what you need! In and of itself it is a positive...More

We wandered around the market with the locals. They were shopping and we were looking. We had lunch inside at one of the many choices. Some of us had Casado which is rice, beans, veggie, plantain and a protein like chicken, pork or fish. I...More

I didn't find anything about this market interesting. We walked from the Hilton Garden Inn because the traffic in this city is maddening. The walk was around the park Sabina which is run down and full of trash, the exhaust from the cars, trucks and...More

As I remember, the market is closed on Sunday and there is not much to do as not much is open on Sunday.

We didn’t go directly from the airport but I’m guessing about 15-20 min taxi ride. Take the RED taxis in San Jose and agree on an amount before you get in the cab. We did this and always got a good deal. Met others who... More
