Fun place to get drunk but keep an eye open.

The people who go there are mostly locals between ages 18-30. It was fun to drink, entrance to the mall was free. El pueblo is like a mall composed of multiple bars from which you... read more

Went to Costa Rica on a whim for my birthday and read about this place. went a few days. Thursday night not so hot. then i went back Friday and Saturday and the place as on fire. It felt like that was the only place to be. I met a girl at another spot another night and randomly ran into... More

New Years Eve was our last night in Costa Rica and we wanted to go out with a bang. Most of the people on our G Adventures tour wanted to party so our tour guide Ro took us to El Pueblo. It's a complex of bars and clubs with different styles of music and dancing. A few places have cover... More

This spot has gone down some. It used to be a venue where you could go and get Attlee bit of everything from clubbing to a nice quiet bar. Last time it seemed a little more rundown.

el pueblo is a mall decorated like a very old villa. it has around 20 bars and very cheap alchool. but is not a very safe place to go and to be honest the party there is not good at all. if you want a better and safer time, go to "la calle de la amargura". its pretty good on... More

The people who go there are mostly locals between ages 18-30. It was fun to drink, entrance to the mall was free. El pueblo is like a mall composed of multiple bars from which you can choose. We went to "friends" and payed 8 dollars per person for an open bar. It was okay, the line up for the bar... More

I was initially skeptical about going to El Pueblo based on the reviews on here, but my friends wouldn't let me chicken out so I said a prayer and went anyway. It was a Friday night and I expected to see loads of thugs, vagabonds and shady individuals but it seemed quite normal to me (just like any other nightlife... More

It is a shame that this hasn't been better kept. There are many empty shops and it is badly in need of maintenance. It is not a safe area at night.

I like to go to El Pueblo on Friday's and Saturday nights. Lots of beautiful women going out to dance and drink. You'll find a variety of bars and clubs inside as you walk through the maze. It really doesn't get popping until 11 or 12 at night. One must be careful going in all by yourself. There are some... More

It used to be a great place where you could find several bars, dancing, drinking, food, etc. But in the last years has become a place of fights even shootings. Not recomended. Also, cabs there, will try to scam you.

We had a wonderful night until the young locals got jealous because of the attention that was given to us....the advice of the taxi driver taken, we left around 1am...I am pretty sure we would have been in a serious fight if we would have stayed longer. There are several bars and (small) discos full of locals....very enjoyable to see... More
