Tour was very interesting

Provides tours in both English and in Spanish. Able to go in most parts of the theater on your own once the tour is complete. It was very enjoyable. A very beautiful building.

Had lunch first and it was delicious! Great coffee too. You could even choose the region your coffee came from. Took the guided English tour and it was very interesting and well done. Beautiful atmosphere in this place.

Take the time to see this if you are in San Jose for any length of time. Well worth the entrance fee ($11 US). The tour or self guided option is very enjoyable. Have a coffee in the cafe afterwards

Designed by Italian architects and using materials sent from Italy, this is a beautiful building. Locals are very proud of the building, we're told and the preservation of its heritage value is constant. Definitely wait for a tour guide which is included in the cost of entry.

This theater is similar to other beautiful theaters. It show how much Costa Rica invests in their arts. We got there just aftaer 5:00, so we could not go into the actual theater and only got to see the lobby and get a coffee in the cafe. It was still well worth it. Be sure and get a coffee in... More

Toured the theatre today and loved all the beauty, art and historical significance of this place. It's worth it to pay for the guided tour (available in English) and learn about the history of the place and the art and statues within it. The raising of the theatre floor was astonishing! So glad we visited this beautiful piece of history.

We were looking for something to do while staying overnight in San Jose and we did a tour of this magnificent Theater. Easy to find, reasonable cost $10 each , knowledgeable guide and fascinating architectural details.
