About
Aguas Termales Quepos is managed by a Costa Rican family. Enjoying nature and hospitality are their priorities. No tiles like in a swimming pool, but the pools are located in a natural environment. You are surrounded by trees and you have a view at the river. You can visit the location during the evening as well. With candle lights a romantic atmosphere is being created.

This was well worth the drive, make sure you use WAZE not GOOGLE as google takes you a LONG horrible way, whereas Waze takes you more direct. It is a small run hot spring with a couple of pools and you can have a Costa Rican lunch there too. It was peaceful until a bunch of people turned up with music etc. It is really lovely to hear the peace and natural souls of the jungle, so if you go there don't be inconsiderate playing music loud as some people are escaping stressful lives (thats why they visit).

We visited during the rainy season, so the water was cooler than normal, but still warm. We came on a weekday & had the whole place to ourselves for the first couple of hours. Then we enjoyed talking with another couple who arrived before lunch. We had a delicious “tipico” lunch there just as it started to rain. It was a beautiful morning spent relaxing. It would have been fun to go behind the pools into the cooler river below, but a lot of recent rain made that too dangerous. A 4x4 is recommended for the drive up.

We just visited this place on a few weeks ago and had a great time. We ate at the Restaurant, the food was delicious and very reasonable. We had no issues at all and had a Fantastic day here. We will be back for sure.

STAY AWAY. We made legitimate reservations with a tour agency, who issued us a voucher. We paid in full. Upon arrival, Marco and the other girl at the front desk refused us entry, despite admitting they had accepted the reservation the day prior. She claimed she accepted the reservation but that it was a new agency that she had never worked with, and thus- she could not allow us inside. She even called the agency on the phone who confirmed that the reservation was valid, and we were still not allowed inside. Both refused to allow us to speak to management about the situation or their behavior, and actually laughed about the whole thing. I have reported them to the tourist police, and please- DO NOT GO HERE. There are other options for hotsprings which are legitmate businesses who care about their customers.

We used waze to get here from uvita. It was not a stressful drive. It had the right amount of adventure. The springs were not hot. It had just rained so not even warm. But they are really cool. The Resteraunt attached is good. It is cash only.

We had an absolutely amazing time here! The drive in was definitely interesting but nothing unmanageable. The pools are stunning and the river is refreshing. We had the pools to ourselves for most of our visit and would definitely make the drive again!

My husband and I loved this! These hot springs are natural and romantic unlike the Balti hot springs that are crowded and more of a party scene. If you're looking to relax and have a romantic time, this is the place to go!

This is an incredible place out of Quepos in Dos Bocas, Hatillo, where you will avoid the crowd to relax in the warm water in middle also of the exuberant forest next to a river of crystal clear water. Highly recommended. Over there you can have so delicious costarican style food. Definitely a great place to pass a good day.

After a long day of traveling and rafting, sitting in the springs were nothing short of magical. We even stayed in the as it rained to the night. The facility is lovely, very clean and professional with people to help at every corner. Drinks were very good, but pricey. We did have dinner. It is a buffet with a mix of some Costa Rican food like gallo pinto and mango salad and odd things like pasta and some creamy mushroom chicken. There were a lot of options on it and a salad bar in addition to tea and coffee and soup. It is ok for the extra $22 but nothing mind blowing, made for an easy night of relaxing though!

Beautiful hot springs, relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by nature. A few springs with different temperatures and a nice cool river. You can spend a great day here. We stayed for five days in the ecolodge (tipi calathea) next door and visited the hot springs a couple of times. In the small restaurant you can get some refreshments and a great casado for lunch. The dirt road getting there, is a bit rough, but it’s really worth the trip. Use the app “waze” to navigate, google maps does not know this route. But there is a sign in Hatillo and just follow the road.

If we buy the ticket which does not include lunch or dinner, can we purchase food on the property? Can we bring snacks to the property?

Bonjour, je serais intéressée à en savoir plus sur ce site qui me semble très bien.. je n'arrive pas à trouver d'informations récentes.. Où exactement se trouve l'accès? Quels sont les jours et heures d'ouverture ? Un grand merci!
Eco Termales Quepos is open every day of the year. 7AM - 8PM, kitchen is open until 6PM. Entrance 3000 Colones per person. Children 9 and younger don't pay entrance.
Don't use Google Maps.
Use Waze.
Drive to the village Hatillo, in front of the soda la Unica in Hatillo is the sign of Eco Termales Quepos. From here on it is half an hour, best is to drive 4x4.
Phone contact only possible with Whatsapp. There is also a Facebookpage with info and the possibility to contact the owners.
There is a lodge closeby: Tipi Calathea Ecolodge

We tried to get to your hot springs today but found that the roads were not drivable. We took the route that Google Maps recommends from Ojochal. We went quite far with many obstacles and wrong turns with roads that should not be driving on. We drove an all wheel drive and relied on Google maps. This route is so dangerous! We finally decided to give up when we passed some washed out roads and hardly were able to turn around. We hear that there is a much better route to get to your place but google does not lead anyone to that route....We also were told but could not find this route: Access from the main highway is past Domincal about 5 Km and there should be a sign Agua Termales...Is this still there?
I am so sorry to hear that... Unfortunately Google Maps is not very updated about the roads in Costa Rica. The last 8 kilometers don't exist and gives therefore wrong directions. Because of that we adjusted the direction on this page. In Costa Rica it is better to use Waze or Maps.me. From Ojochal you have to drive in the direction of Quepos. 7 kilometers north from Dominical there is a small village called Hatillo. In Hatillo, look for the soda La Unica (that is on Google Maps). In front of the soda La Unica you'll find a sign, you have to enter this road. From here on it is 8 kilometers, a beautiful road that is a bit adventurous but not dangerous.

Hey. Is it possible to come to the pools without a meal? What hours are you open? Should I book a place? Thanks

Yes, that is possible. A reservation is not necessary, the hot springs are open every day from 7AM - 9PM. Because it is rainy season, we recommend to go in the morning and with a 4x4 car.
