Easy simple hike with 3 beautiful falls! Definitely would visit again. Easy hike (good for kids) and if you pay a visit to the top falls make sure to look for little fish that will nibble and suck on your feet!

The short hike up the river to the waterfall is probably more interesting than the waterfall itself! However the falls are lovely with a pool to swim in. Make sure you wear trainers or secure shoes - not flip flops!

A good walk from the low level parking lot and worth the effort (about 20 minutes)- just watch your step. Delightful Capuchin monkeys all around (I swear they pose for photos!) Your reward is at the base of a picturesque 20 meter waterfall with refreshing...More

Montezuma quickly became one of our favorite places in Costa Rica. The Montezuma falls requires a bit of a hike along a cascading river. There is a rough path to the right of the river but it's easy to miss. For a little effort the...More

Stop what you are doing and got there right away. The walk up is a bit tough, but we managed with our 4 year old. The first pool was refreshing and we spent hours there. Monkeys came to visit during our swim.

Montezuma Falls is listed in guidebooks such as Lonely Planet as the top attraction in Montezuma and that is for a good reason- the waterfall is majestic and reaching its first level takes a very pleasant walk along a creek. At the bottom of the...More

The trail up to the falls is certainly not for everyone. Many people were not hiking up on the dry rocks and were slipping and falling into the pools of water, not using much common sense. The area around the pool at the bottom of...More

The entrance to the falls was right across the street from the hotel we were staying at so this made it quite convenient for us. There was a decent size parking lot though for those who had cars or ATVs. There was no charge to...More

One of the best things we did in Costa Rica. We walked from Ivans house in Montezuma. It took us about 40 minutes in total to get from the house to the lower falls. The hike to the upper falls is not easy but well...More

About a 40 min walk along rocks and river bed. I would advise you wear sturdy shoes(although some locals wear flip flops!) as you are clambering over rocks. When you get to the waterfall, you can swim and it is very cooling! Some locals will...More
