Hike to waterfall

Great walk. Need sturdy shoes! Waterfall and pool were lovely. Great swimming hole. Lots of young travelers and families. Saw howler monkeys. Great fun!

Was a little underwhelmed only because I had seen internet pictures and the falls look much more luscious and vast during rainy season. That being said we were still able to cliff jump and swim in the pool for the first waterfall despite it being dry season. Hike was totally doable- 20 minutes, wear good shoes.

Bring food and drinks and spend half or a full day here. Scale the sketchy path around the river left side to the upper pool or pay a small price for a trail somewhere from the road. Careful sending it off the big cliffs as I tried figuring out what an evac situation would be like ... Don't think a... More

We followed all of the other tourists in town up to the local falls with low expectations but they were actually great. A really pretty waterfall with a great swimming hole. Not a lot of water falling as it's so dry right now but still very pretty. Take shoes as the Ricky riverbed is just dying to sprain your ankles.

There are three waterfalls here. All close together. A steep hike to the upper two falls. I wore flip flops but teas or shoes would have been nice. 10-40 foot cliff jumps! Rope swing can be dangerous.

It was a really rainy day but it has been awesome. The waterfalls were huge. If it rains the day you planned to visit, Ask for a guide on the parking!! It is dngerous to cross the river by yourself.

This is a great place to escape the heat and go for a swim. Easy twenty minute hike from town. It was awesome to watch the locals cliff dive. Everyone had a great relaxing time. Good bouldering if you bring rock climbing shoes.

While attending a wedding at a nearby resort, a group of us hiked to montezuma falls... it was during a dry part of the year, so the falls were not so impressive as they would be with more water. The walk from town was short, but hiking over large rocks to get to the falls was a little more challenging.... More

About 40m before you reach the first waterfall, you'll see a white rope on the left side of the river against the rocks. This is a set of stairs that takes you to the top waterfall! If you don't want to do the more dangerous, billy goat trail climb that most people take, make sure and find the stairs -... More
