Luluberlu is a local Art Gallery and boutique in the centre of Puerto Viejo. It is the story of Lulu, a french artist famous for her mosaics, moving to Costa Rica. It's not just a place to shop, it's a place where you can discover the world of mosaics and art. The boutique with its workshop is definitely worth a visit.

In the gallery you can purchase paintings of local Caribbean artist and national artists. Luluberlu offers a wide selection of handcrafted souvenirs, lamps, mosaics and jewellery. Besides art and souvenirs, you can find an exclusive collection of beachwear and bikinis created in the boutique and clothing of different national designers.

Luluberlu is a versatile boutique where everyone can find something unique !

We now opened a restaurant in the garden of the gallery. So after shopping people can have a drink or eat something in our beautiful garden and admire the art pieces that are exposed in the back.

Maybe the best place to find unique souvenirs. They have everything from silver jewelry, bag packs and lamps to bikinis. Prices are also reasonable. My girlfriend found pretty dress and we both found souvenirs to our family and friends.

Every single time I go to Puerto Viejo, I go to Lulúberlú and most often than not, something comes back with me for my collection of fine art. Do not get me wrong: this is not the place where you get a thousands of dollars painting (not always anyway) but the essence of the true Costarrican art in the form... More

The shop is not a shop...when you enter Luluberlu, you enter another world. Lady or gentleman, you will start dreaming about that original Panama hat or the painting from a local artist. Do not miss entering this new planet...

Not cheap by any means, but if you're tired of the same mass-produced stuff and want something a bit more unique to take home, check this place out. Worth a browse even if you don't buy anything.

This was the nicest shop in Puerto Viejo--clean, classy, full of beautiful, original and one-of-a kind pieces. Very unique items. Prices range from $5 up to several hundred dollars. No cheesy tee-shirts or cheap knick-knacks. There were pretty mosaics, interesting jewelry, and printed artwork. I picked up a mosaic frame. Be sure to visit the back garden, which is pretty... Tucked away a few streets back from the sea front. Luluberlu is a really cute shop with lots of paintings by local artists, homewares, beach clothing, jewellery and more. It feels a bit like an Aladdins cave with lots of treasures to discover. I particularly liked the sarongs which after much deliberation chose one! With the exchange rate for the... More

PV is a great place but the tourist tack gets to be a bit much to those of us living here. This gorgeous "store" which is really an Art Gallery staffed by gorgeous Ticos who are bilingual and know how to treat a client, has everything you could ever want, including souvenirs actually handcrafted by locals who benefit from your... The atmosphere and items in the shop are incredible. We fell under the charm of the colorfull and creative place. Natacha, the artist and owner is a nice and talented person.

They had nice things but when the time to pay came it became an unpleasant experience. They offered a cash discount to the listed price but when I wanted to use my credit card they wanted to charge me a 6% processing fee. What's the point of the price tag if cash is less and credit is more?! Then they... More

I read about this place online and decided to give it a go. I looked through their merchandise I asked if a candle holder was made locally and the salesman told me (I commend his honesty) that it was not, it was made in India. An artisanal shop boasting local art was trying to sell this for $60. Not impressed.... More
