If you do NOTHING else is Puerto Viejo, do the night tour. Ours was led by Devon. He found snakes, a sloth, bats, tons of spiders, frogs - just wow. Best part: There was a sloth AT THE BAR, literally, hanging over it and eating...More

Wonderful people and amazing place. These folks care for injured and abandoned local animals. Your visit will further their mission to rehabilitate and release local wildlife. Don't miss it!!

Blown away by the variety of animals here, with many species roaming freely. We will definitely come back with our children next time (though they won't want to leave). Devin was our guide -- he was delightful and extremely knowledgeable. A must-see!

It was one of our favorite things on our trip! We loved seeing the great work these people do. And of course getting such an intimate view of the animals, especially the sloths was amazing.

This Centre houses animals that have been rescued and you go around the centre in small groups, led by a tour leader conducting in English, Spanish or French. We had Dexter (the one on tv) and he was fabulous. We were told about each rescue...More

The JRC is doing some great work funded entirely by private contributions (tickets, merchandise etc.) Staff were excellent - passionate, knowledgeable and committed to helping rehabilitate and reintegrate Costa Rican animals back into their natural habitat. Tour was busy so arrive in plenty of time.

Yes, plenty of space to park.. watch out for howler monkeys on the trees. They like to wee on people standing under trees. :)
