This place does not advertise so please ask about it when in Puerto Viejo. Knowledgeable all volunteer staff doing their very best to help the animals. We learned a lot and was able to get up close to sloths and tucans.

My Wife and I visited the Jaguar Rescue Center during our stay in Puerto Viejo. We were hesitant to go to this location because we both believe that animals belong in the wild. I was blown away by how much care that the staff has...More

Our hotel recommended this center to us. We hustled for the first guided tour and it was worth it. Checked off many of our animal viewing wish list and they help rescues. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and radiated a passion for the animals....More

We stayed at the villas, not in the hostal, it was amazing to wake up in the middle of the jungle with monkeys flying around and sloths eating right next to your dinner table. Totally recommend it.

The folks here are doing a great job caring for and reintroducing endemic animals to the wild. Very knowledgeable and clearly focused on their goal. Well worth a visit if you're in the region!

The rescue center tour was so amazing. The staff are very well educated and informative. We saw numerous wild animals in addition to the ones being rehabilitated. It's a must go when in PV!

Our options were 930am and 1130am. I think this is when the animals are the most active. The staff volunteers for these tours so I’m assuming they spend the early morning and afternoon getting their actual work done.

Yes, plenty of space to park.. watch out for howler monkeys on the trees. They like to wee on people standing under trees. :)
