I'm on a tight budget: no tours, no excursions, no bungee jumping. But, JRC (for $20 but it's worth $40) uses its ticket sales to directly help wounded/abandoned animals. Too many tours promise animals but don't deliver for twice the price. Here? I couldn't stop taking pictures of sloths in arm's reach, boa constrictors, parrots, owls, Hawks, the cutest baby... More

This was a great tour. It seems like everyone gets there first thing in the morning and then they divide the groups by language and size. The tour leader knew his stuff, and all the tours are very well coordinated to give each group a great experience all over the site. They explain how each animal came to be there,... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Becky, was so knowledgeable about all the animals, especially the sloths. Nature lovers, especially, will enjoy this tour. Don't miss it.

Great place to send an hour and a half getting an overview of the local fauna (and some flora). Well worth the $20 adult entrance fee. Don't forget to tip the guide, as they are vounteers.

I have been here 3 times now over the years, and love it every time I visit. Very informative volunteers, and always nice to be able to see some of the animals up close, and that are being helped/cared for to be re-habilitated and released back into their natural habitat. The highlight is always any baby sloths or monkeys, they... More

If in Puerto Viejo - go there! The tour is really worth the money and the time, we got so much out of it. Great guides, great initiative and an great experience, and as an extra plus you definitely feel like the money is going to something good, as it is a nonprofit-organisation.

This center is doing a great job at rescuing animals, the tour was very interesting and informative. Our guide Sky was amazing! We loved seeing all the animals! The highlight was probably the baby sloths, so cute. Pretty much everyone who works there is a volunteer. They have a lot of staff and a lot of visitors, but we got... More

Although we did not reserve in advance we were lucky and got a last minute private tour. It seemed a little expensive but I am incredibly glad we chose this option. When we were there we found out that the normal guided tours in the morning had consisted of 17 people per group. In the private tour we got to... More
