I would highly recommend Banana Surf School to anyone wishing to learn to surf. Our instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, and focused on teaching the proper skills and best practices for a successful surfing experience. As I was a beginner to surfing, my instructor was incredibly positive and encouraging, and prioritized safety above everything else. Pricing was comparable to other lessons... More

The guys at banana surf club are awesome. They continually help my family with board exchanges and other needs. The boards they offer are real fiberglass surf boards. So many types and sizes to choose. We will definitely use them again.

The personnel is very nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The prices are very reasonable, cheaper than in some other places. And the shop is very close to the beach with good waves. I definitely recommend this place!

It was my first time to surf and this was the best place to learn. They were so helpful with the boards and the instruction. They have a great location. The best thing about it are the people-they are wonderful.

I hired boards here most days while in Tamarindo - $10 a day when many others are $10 per hour. They have a huge range of boards of all different shapes and styles and you can also switch boards during the day if the conditions change or you fancy trying a different board. A friend from our hotel also took... More

Found the right board, pricing and pick up was a breeze. Thanks for the great board. It was awesome...surfed playa negra, avellanas, rivermouth,... More

This place taught me how to surf in just a few hours. The instructors were friendly, funny and really knew their stuff. Their focus was fun and safety which is important when you have no clue what you're doing. Their prices were affordable and they equipment well maintained. It is great for individuals, couples and even families with young kids.... More

Our kids took the two hour private lessons in the morning when the tide is medium to small, suitable for beginners. Our kids enjoyed the lesson and caught quite a few waves to shore. Recommend.
