A little rocky, but beautiful none the less. Good waves to learn to surf on, approximately 1-4 feet high.

We stayed at Playa Langosta so walked in the morning to Tamarindo beach at the low tide periods. Very scenic, takes about 20/25 minutes strolling and stopping. Enjoy a cool drink at the Beach Bar when you get to Tamarindo!

Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Whistle pushers can be a bit annoying though! I recommend you go there before high season or it will be busy.

Had the best time at Sharkey's while in Tamarindo. We went there almost every day! Bernardo was awesome and made us the coolest shots!!!!

I love this beach - it is one of the best. Great for surfing - a good alternative to Waikki, lots of surf schools. Very secure feeling, unlike Waikii which as lots of people sleeping on it.

We liked the beach. The sunset is absolutely amazing! The water is clear. There are quite a few rocks so you have to be careful swimming and surfing.

Tamarindo is a place of beauty for surfers and simply walking the beaches to collect shells. There are surf boards to rent right on the beach. Best time to surf is high tide

If you use common traveler's sense, I'd say no. For instance, if you're at the beach, don't leave your items unattended. Keep your valuables in the lock box in your hotel room. If a local is randomly trying to engage you in... More
