Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife (a Tica) and I dated in high school in the US. We did not see each other for 17 years and one day she called me out of the blue. Long story short I made the trip to CR a few weeks latter. Our families were intertwined throughout the years and I always wanted to visit. The first place she took me after a long plane ride was here. We loaded up the Rocky with food and beverage and set out for Rajada. That was my first real tropical beach experience. No one was there, just us. Fast forward 2 years latter, I asked her to marry me here. It was the first beach I took our son to play in the sand. Ticas and tourist alike love Rajada for its natural UNTOUCHED beauty. To me it was touch by God, and HOPEFULLY it will stay that way. The peace, that it provides will always be in my heart as the place I fell in Love with my wife.

The setting is great. Often there is wind here, but the waves are generally small. No lifeguards on duty, and the Costa Rica Coast Guard tends to visit here once in a while. Watch out for how busy the entrance and exit can be. When stuffed with campers, it's difficult to park or move here, and cars can be a danger here.

The most beautiful beach in the area. And a great snorkeling too, especially if you are able to swim to the rocky outcrop on the right, with zero sediment, and 50+ fish species, and even some hard coral! Everything changes with the huge tide (over 8 ft where we were there) so go twice, with the low tide, and then with the high tide, and you won't recognize the place.
On weekends, there might be a local event, which may provide additional attraction but will ruin the precious solitude.

Beautiful beach which is secluded and quiet. Peaceful and perfect day spent there. Not many people which makes it perfect for some relaxation. Water is clear and beach is well kept and very clean.

Warm water, almost empty, some waves but not big (good for children), nice place - highly recommended.

The best thing is the MIRADOR between playa rajada and playa rajadita. Some hidden jungle paths lead you up the 150 ft hill between the two beaches with a spectacular view on both sides. Watch out for hundreds of red-legged crabs on your way up!

Very nice and popular beach. Camping is supposed to be prohibited due to covid, but that didn’t stop a few groups. Watch out for those thorns in the sand from the trees!
