My husband and I visited the park on our last visit to Costa Rica. We were staying in Tamarindo, so it was about a 2-2.5 hour drive. We hiked to the waterfall (approx. 7 miles roundtrip) - it was a pretty hike through several different types of ecosystems (rain forest, savannah, dry forest). We saw some lizards and spider monkeys.... More

We used Elvision Adventure Tours for our excursion. They were very courteous and knowledgeable in helping us plan our trip. Our guide was punctual and helpful. The adventure was awesome. We enjoyed a nice two hour hike thru a jungle with volcanic mud and steam activity and wildlife. We also enjoyed a short hike to a beautiful waterfall, horseback riding,... More

I finally made it to the Rincon Volcano and it was definitely worth it! The summit trail was closed due to High winds and Volcanic Activity but I did get to do the Las Pailas trail and the trail to Catarata La Cangreja. Las Pailas was a nice loop trail that had smaller paths that extended from it to see... More

We went there for an adventure day and in that it did not disappoint. We paid $90 which included horseback riding, white water inner tubing, zip lining and "hot springs/mud bath". The horseback riding was pretty good and you definitely do not need to be an experienced rider as everyone goes as a group in a line. The white water... More

We hiked 10 km round trip to waterfall, then we walked on the shorter 3km loop near the entrance to the park. The hike wasn't very difficult but not very easy either due to the hot tropical weather. You need to take a lot of water if you plan to hike longer trails. On our way we saw many blue... More

I wasn't expecting to be approached by a guide in the parking lot but I'm so glad we hired him. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with our group of 6 (ranging in age from 10 to 67 years old), took some great pictures, and enhanced our hike immensely. We saw different types of forest, learned so much about trees/plants/animals... More

We visited the Santa Maria side first, with a guide who spoke perfect English and was a biologist botanist. We learned a lot, and were lucky to share the trails with only two other couples. The road to get to this side of the volcano is very rough (3 km in 1/2 hour), but our guide reassured us that we... More

Great blend of rainforest and desert in a short hike. You walk on pavement nearly the entire time between dividers much of the time - so it is less natural then I would have liked. Lots of sights (and smells...) on this hike.

We did a full day combo with Guaichipeling Tours Overall, very enjoyable. beginners zip liners and tubing, lunch included Zip lining was fun, very safe overall, scenery was OK. Most of the guides didn't seem to speak English, nonetheless, all of them were always very concerned with safety Tubing was my favorite! Long lines to get settled but once we... More
