We did the Pala Verde Boat Tour with Costour after hearing some great things about them in Playa Hermosa. The vehicule was very comfy, the guide excellent (he spoke monkey also) and the food was typical and so delicious! Along the was, our guide stopped several times in order to give us a taste of the local culture and traditions.... More

Early morning start, 5.00am for this trip from Guanacaste. Well worth the effort. A longish coach journey took us to Palo Verde where we boarded a 30 or so seat river boat although there were only a few of us on board, and proceeded almost silently along the waterways which were teeming with wildlife. Crocodiles in the water and on... More

We had a fun couple of hours on the boat. It holds 30, but we only had 21 passengers. Took the first tour of the day. As it was, we had a number of children. Mostly we had an adult with horrible body odor and a woman that wouldn't shut up...she made the children look like angels. They were good... More

We took a 6 hour tour called 'Palo Verde National Park Boatcruise'. We booked through Viator online. The trip to the river took us through agricultural lands. We got a good look at how the cantaloupe and sugarcane farms are harvested. The river tour was eye opening. Where else can you see crocodiles, scarlet macaws and monkeys hanging around, minding... A great way to see many different birds, crocodiles, iguanas, and monkeys. Our boat was a small on which we liked because everyone had a great view. Captain Tito went out of his way to get as close as possible for pictures and also taught us about numerous local plants natives use for medicines. Lunch was wonderful--plenty of it and... More

Norman and Sergio picked us up from our hotel and took us on a very pleasant and informative bus ride where we stopped at scenic El Viejo for fresh fruit and cold drinks. Then on to the Palo Verde National Park where we boarded a river boat and glided down the Tempisque River. The captain of the boat was excellent... More

A relaxing and informative day. The guide was very informative on the drive to the park. We really enjoyed the drive and seeing the scenery and small towns. The boat captain was exceptional at finding animals for us to see. We saw crocodiles, white faced monkeys, macaws, and several birds. A fabulous lunch was included in the tour. The food/meat... The tour guides picked us up at the hotel and took us to Palo Verde National Park. The guides were bilingual and very informative. It was a very relaxing glimpse of Costa Rica. We were able to see monkeys, crocodiles, bats and several kinds of birds. There was a lunch included in the tour.
