We drove up to the summit, arriving about 09:00, to miss the cloud. The drive is ok in a regular car, but it's long, winding and as with the rest of Costa Rica, there are no guard rails. It's about 45 minutes of focussed driving...More

The drive to the summit was spectacular. One at the crater, the entrance fee had to be paid in "cash" and they do not take credit cards. We had a fairly large group and we even had to pay for our driver. The facilities (bathroom...More

The view to the volcano is absolutely spectacular! A lot of winding roads through the mountains. Use caution. It costs $16 per person to enter the park and a few more dollars to park. They only take CASH and they close at 3:30 p.m. There...More

Amazing experience to drive trough a good road to a Volcano crater at more than 10.500 feet high. It's cold but not that much (58 F) because is a tropical country. There is a huge area to walk at one side of the crater good...More
