This was absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed. You could even hear the coffe pot running next door. There was a window pane missing from the window, the screen was broken, toilet would hardly flush and ran constantly, the tile on the floor was cracked and broken from the floor, the mini frig was rusted, there was a... Unfortunately the worst place I stayed in while traveling in Costa Rica. The rooms were damp and moist, everything looked rundown and the food was really bad. Worst of all, they tried to charge me extra money for the room, because supposedly I was not alone and somebody saw somebody... Well, that also did not work in their favour. There... More

It's a big place with different sizes cabins. It has an amazing view to the vulcano. They have their own thermal baths placed nicely by the pool. You see a lot of different birds around the hotel area. Outside it looks very nice, but inside it really needs a makeover. The worst in our cabin was that we couldn't close... More

I stayed here with 24 clients over 2 nights. We arrived with spectacular views of the volcano. But rooms very dated needing upgrading. Complaints from clients. No show curtain so flooded bathroom floor. Broken toilet. Water pressure low and not much hot water. 5 clients fell leaving there rooms as steps not marked, thankfully no broken bones. Receptions first aid... More

We stayed 2 nights, 3 days here 1/20 - 1/22, 2016. After reading many reviews and comparing numerous resorts in the area we finally called Montana. When calling direct they were able to give us a better rate than shown on line. All the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Some reviews show outdated TV's, refrigerators etc. Well we weren't... The resort is a good play to stay. We stayed in a junior suite which had access to the lake. You could fish if you like, but you have some thermal place and some pool that are good. We enjoyed a couple massage, which was really good and relaxing. Food at the restaurant was good. They have mostly fish dishes... More

Our stay at Montaña de Fuego was quite pleasant and quiet,.....we stayed in the 2 standard units right next to the reception and found them to be everything we "needed". It rained,.....so we never saw the Volcano in its entirety, however,.....rain does not adversely affect afternoon naps,......reading of good books,.......and great meals at the restaurant. Get an umbrella and move... More

We loved this resort. The staff were all wonderful; helpful, gracious, kind, inviting, and very professional. There is so much to do at this fine resort. From zip lining, rafting, hiking, hot springs, volcanic mud baths and spa, to galloping on horse back through the rain forest. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable - set in an exotic flora... More

stayed here for two nights. It is a beautiful setting! The thunderstorms are amazing up here and the rain; oh the rain. Be prepared; the sky opens up and christens the earth with force one cannot reckon with. It is a beautiful location. The spa ladies are great, the swim up bar is nice. The morning breakfast was great. Went... More

Really disappointed to share that the pictures of this place on the website look nothing like the actual hotel. The fridge in our room was rusted, the rooms a outdated and the service not all that great. The best part of our stay was the food. You did enjoy our dinner and breakfast but I wouldn't stay there again. Our... More
