This lake is beautiful and offers great views of the volcano. As far as I could tell it doesn't have any beaches and I never saw many boats or things out on it. However, I did hear from someone they took a ferry across the...More

Pristine lake, undeveloped, windy roads recently paved, tons of potential. Not much else. Will be great in 50 years when there are shopping centers, bars, restaurants, and housing.

Our rental home near Nuevo Arenal overlooked beautiful Lake Arenal and we enjoyed that view for 14 wonderful days! There are several things you can do on Lake Arenal, like kayaking and fishing. We didn't do either, but talked to people who did and they...More

It's beautiful for photos and a scenic drive, but that's about it unless you do a boat ride tour. I wish I could find paddle boarding, because it looked perfect for that!!!!

We spent a few hours here and drove around pretty much all of it on our way east. Breathtakingly beautiful especially with the volcano as a back drop.

We stayed in Arenal for five days and felt like some of the activities were kind of lame. This was one of them. We were on the lake for a nature tour and hike to the lava fields and then en route to the cloud...More

We did a volcano hike which included a short boat trip and walk on Peninsula Arenal which was beautiful. The lake is very peaceful with lots of birds. We were lucky to see two tropical river otters.

We did not go into or onto the lake, only looked at it, but it was beautiful, clean and peaceful and we would like to spend more time there.

Ok to drive by and see on the way but it's a man made lake, the roads are slow especially if behind a usual slow truck and landscape nothing special.

I'm pretty sure that there are paddleboard rentals on either end of the highway that goes across the top of the dam on the way into La Fortuna.

I'm not sure as where we entered the Lake was the boat pickup and drop off. If you contact My Costa Rica they could answer your question. Enjoy your journey.
