We arrived at the place really early and were received by Luis who was amazing and explained exactly where we should go to get the best views. When we got to the waterfalls we were totally alone which made the experience even more magical! This...More
Short drive from Grecia. These calls are wonderful.
Plan on getting wet. The only way to see one is to walk in the river around a corner.
Water is cold but not deep.
Wear some kind of shoes. There’s lots of rocks and barefoot is...More
While staying in Grecia I decided to go for a hike with my teens to Los Chorros Waterfalls. This is a private property. It is free but the owner will accept tips. The area is very rustic. The are no amenities in the area. The...More
2 amazing waterfalls. Tucked away in untouched nature this is a hidden gem. Well worth the trip and the walk to the falls themselves. You can even get in the water (if the current is not too strong) and get under one of the waterfalls.
Shortly after the Municipality of Grecia bought the access to Los Chorros waterfalls, landslides wiped out the road and parts of the lower-end trail. Now the lower-end trail is completely blocked by mudslide.
HOWEVER...if you drive in the driveway at the upper end (there's a...More
My wife and I are 65+ and not in terrible physical condition. We read reviews about incline, weather variations, etc. Some said it was treacherous going, some said it was an easy hike and went to the waterfall where they swam.
What we found:

I have not been there in the last three or four weeks but a little longer than that, but I was there during a rainy season so like 2 months ago and it was possible to enter with a four wheel drive let alone SUV would also pass. But right now i would say it is more colder i mean colder costa Rican temperature. For them everything below like 40 is cold. So not much mud or water, only once in awhile. Also even if you cannot get it by the SUV and you really want to go it is only a short walk 😊
