The Old Depot Museum has little to do with trains although their is an old caboose in the backyard. There are many pictures and artifacts over a hundred years old displayed around the museum.

All indications were that they would be open, but they were not. Looked ok outside but need to update their information.

This is an outstanding museum with a lot of artifacts. There are so many pieces from various eras of Selma and the citizens that lived there. Plan on about two hours to take your time and really enjoy this gem. The docent is very knowledgable and extremely helpful.

Selma was a huge part of the civil rights movement, and the Old Depot has captured much of Selma's history. Unfortunately they have so much stuff, that it is a bit cluttered but still very interesting. For $5 it's hard to beat and you can see some items such as an officers outfit from the day of the riots that... More

This place is AWESOME! There's soooo much history crammed into this building that it's overwhelming but in a good way. Worth every dollar and a little bit more. The lady who runs it (can't remember her name-sorry) was also awesome. The original 60 yr old postcards for purchase were the icing on the cake! Visit this museum!

I was excited to see this place. Based on the disruptions online it was a basic overview of the city including a Civil War and Civil Rights focus. What it is in reality is a cool old building filled with old crap. Most of which has no explanation leaving you wondering why you just spent $5 to wander these mostly... More
