I have looked literarily all over the world (I have lived in 7 different countries on 3 continents) for a facial this good. Even though I moved out of Shanghai four years ago, I return to The Sanctuary every single time I visit, even if just for a few days. If you, like I do, need extractions, I have never seen anyone perform them like they do there. And all the rest I read in the other reviews about the place being immaculate, the staff super well trained, the facial incredibly relaxing, is true. Just go !

Wow! my experience at the sanctuary is superb and wonderful. My most favorite is their medical grade of extraction, it's painful but worth it. I feel so clean and fresh after. I will definitely come back at the sanctuary. Their organic products was so good and perfect for my skin type.

What a lovely, perfect spa. I had one of the best and most relaxing facials of my life -- excellent but largely pain-free extractions, a great neck and shoulder massage, and an experience so relaxing I almost fell asleep on the table. The pre-treatment consultation was in depth, and I felt like I received a treatment that was carefully selected for my skin, not the one they wanted to promote or upsell. Plus when work and Shanghai traffic made me an hour and a half late, they were responsive and accommodating and moved my appointment back without a problem. My skin is still soft and glowing. It's not a cheap facial, but you get your money's worth -- and it's so good that with just three weeks in town, I'm planning to go at least twice.

The ladies at the Sanctuary are professional and expert in their technique. I have been going to the Hong mei lu branch for over a year and recently had a facial here. Thorough treatment and so so good! Highly recommended.

It is truly amazing... especially the extraction part, my skin feels so fresh & clean. I love their organic products as well. I bought a strawberry fields, it smells so nice.
Will definitely recommend my friends to go there if they visit Shanghai.

Concur with all the positives afore-mentioned and will add that the sanctuary spa (Zhong Shan Park branch) is a God-sent and the absolute highlight of my recent Shanghai visit. For all seeking repose and an unsurpassed pampering beauty treat, a trip to this meticulously, immaculately and professionally run establishment is a luxurious and well-worth-the-money “must” on all fronts. Having experienced what out-of-the-world service is all about from such a visit, one becomes immeasurably savvy about one’s beauty choices for oneself, and expectations of what any spa worth its salt should deliver. No gimmicks, no hard-sell and no fancy facade/ambience masquerading as AAA without substance. My therapist had excellent bedside manners, was gentle and lulled me to a restful slumber with her prolific skills, after an in-depth consultation on my lifestyle and beauty routines with the wonderful, deeply knowledgeable and immensely gregarious proprietor. The environment was spotless to a fault, and the overall experience, at its core, imbued in me a tremendous sense of wellness, as well as being in a safe haven. My parched albeit generally clear face was absolutely radiant, intensely hydrated and wonderfully good-to-go after my session. The effects lasted a few days and I was absolutely stoked to be able to walk around with my gloriously bare face. Having travelled the world extensively and enjoyed many a luxurious and expensive treatment of all sorts, I would boldly state here that a visit to the sanctuary spa is one of the beyond-value-for-money, quality me-time investments one could pamper oneself with, during and off vacation. It is truly a slice of heaven on earth and delivers the titanium standard for all seeking the best one could demand for one’s body, mind and soul.

The ambience of The Sanctuary literally lives up to its name. I booked the massage as my first holiday itinerary after 5-hour red eye flight. The therapist was skillful and the massage was rejuvenating, I caught up with the much needed sleep! The entire premises is clean and neat. Toilet is five star hotel standard.

Well done The Sanctuary Spa team!

I had a facial and eye treatment at the Sanctuary today and it was wonderful. It lasted for an hour and a half and the whole time she was working on my skin with cleansing, oils and masks. She was also doing massage on my arms, shoulders, neck and scalp. It was soooo relaxing and my face looked very fresh afterwards. I would definetly recommend this place to everyone.
