Electric. Fun. Fascinating. Ever changing. Versatile. Busy. Big business. Shopping. Tourists. Numerous restaurants & dining opportunities. Several museums in the immediate area. Can be a little congested at times. Take public transportation if possible. Glorious views of The Bund area. Can pick-up a hop on / hop off bus from this area. All towers within walking distance. Very western feel, new & modern, sleek. Majority of people in this area speak some English. The night experience much different than day time so walk around & visit the area both times of day. Holidays the area will be busy so be prepared. The time you spend in the area will depend on your purpose could be an hour could be all day. You decide! Enjoy.

This is the latest area to be developed in Shanghai and contains the Pearl Tower (looks like space ship with round ball on top), the Financial Center (which encompasses a huge mall with many restaurants) along with many other shops. Modern in every sense of the word. You can travel to the top of the tallest building for great views of Shanghai on clear days but be sure to bring your passport for ID purposes.

This is THE shopping belt and financial district for the Pudong area. Its most famous landmark should be the Oriental Pearl Tower where the ultra-modern design and prime location makes it a mistake item when visiting Shanghai. There are multiple skyscrapers that are more than 100 floors tall (eg Shanghai World Financial Center). They are a sight to behold. For a fee, you can go to the top of these buildings to catch the awesome view of Shanghai. There are also quite a few mega malls in this area where you can shop for high end fashion brands, down to the shops selling merchandise that appeals to the masses.

This side of Shanghai is the financial district and could easily be transported to America, China did an incredible job taking a rice paddy into the 21st century in a decade.
