I recently took a half-day tour of Shanghai, and this was one of the stops. Apparently most of it is new, yet the architecture is in the "old" style. The whole place has a touristy Disneyland feel, but it's still fun. Lots of restaurants and...More

Seems like a magical place at night. Very beautiful and must visit place. Great for shopping souvenirs. The smell from the food stalls can be a bit overwhelming for some but in general it is a great place!

If you want to see some old and astonishing buildings in Shanghai have a quick trip to Nanshi. I recommend to visit in the late afternoon as all houses will be illuminated. Highly recommended! Only downside is that there are a lot of tourist shops.

The Shanghai historic town is very nice. For tourists but also for other people. There are a lot of Chinese people here. The shops are interesting, sometimes funny. Really nice place.

With all the shops here you really could spend a lot of time if you're into shopping. The area is very crowded and a someone else mentioned, this is the place to barter. They really do come down a lot.

You step into a history book / fairy tale china experience. Went to this place twice during my short stay in shanghai, and i am not a person that likes to repeat a place during travel.

It's surrounded by old time China with beautiful architecture and many shops selling everything from food to souvenirs. It has a wonderful Tea House and a beautiful Garden as well, both are a must if this is your first visit.

This place is great to see the old city and the way to do bargaining in the stores. Start with very low offer. if they say 250 yuan, you say 20 yuan and hit them with your best shot, they will come down a lot

We went here as part of a Nexus tour - and it was without doubt THE best shopping venue they took us to. It looks and feels amazing. The vendors are not a pushy as the ones at the "Tourist Market" they take you to....More
