A visit to this zoo clearly provides example of how a zoo can be maintained not just a place to house animals but to provide visitors a lovely ambience with greenery. This zoo that is located in a vast area has ample greenery and first...More

My husband and I visited the zoo while on our first-ever trip to China. The admission cost is so low compared to zoos in our area in the US! It was only a few dollars for entrance. After walking in and heading towards the exhibits,...More

Giant pandas was the biggest reason for our visit. And they did not let us down. While most of the other animals were just relaxing in the shade, the giant pandas were very active. They showed all their tricks, ate some bamboo, had a bath...More

This zoo is huge! There are some beautiful park lands among the enclosures. There's a good variety of animals. Some of the enclosures were a little sad, They were just concrete with little for the animals to do. It's definitely worth a visit

We had a great time at the zoo that's located in a huge park. Nice for some green outdoor time. Good variation of animals so take at least a few hours. There are several basic food/noodle shops for lunch. Easy access from metro line 10,...More

Needs work as zoos go. Come on Shanghai you can do better than this! A major city has to have a major zoo. Read the detail review.

I considered this a second tier Shanghai attraction and was prepared to be disappointed. I chose a week day for my visit so not to coincide with large crowds but there were a number of noisy school excursions. The children did not behave well around...More

I don't know how anyone can give the zoo a positive review. The large animal enclosures are a disgrace. The Bears , Gorillas and hyenas were pacing back and forth looking disturbed, in enclosures that were concrete jungles no grass and looked like they had...More

Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and
entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of
residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle
pockets that have their own unique attractions. The
schools have formed pockets of international
communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang.
Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have
built up over the years to cater to these communities.
