The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular 'ERA Intersection of Time' has been...

The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular 'ERA Intersection of Time' has been performed since its debut at Shanghai Circus World in September 2005. It is unique and comparable to the tradition of the Broadway Musical. It is in fact a stunning acrobatic show combining traditional Chinese arts and modern technologies. The performers present Chinese acrobatics, martial arts and dance perfectly in harmony with the music, sound, lighting, and other special effects, which include a water screen. While you marvel at the highly proficient skills of the performers, the story of China's evolution from its ancient past to the future is told. Hence, the title 'Intersection of Time', as the viewpoint of the audience is set in the present between the past and the future. The performance provides a wonderful insight into China's ancient culture and civilization, with sections about Sinan, an ancient Chinese invention for telling directions, soothsaying and conjuring. There is a fantastic section showing an acrobatic program which has elements performed since the far off days of the Han Dynasty (206BC–220AD). With porcelain jars and vats as their stage properties the performers give an overview of Chinese porcelain culture and greater understand of the country's name of 'China'.Modern achievements that are also showcased include Shanghai Donghai Cross-Sea Bridge, Maglev Train, and Shenzhou 5, China's first manned space mission. From these, you can see the amazing development and bright future of Shanghai and the whole country. The 100-minute performance shows not only artistic skills, but also creativity. Aided by multimedia including vision, original live music, sound effects, smell effect, air conditioning and lighting,

This is what I would do if I only had one night in Shanghai. It was amazing from beginning to end. Every performer is uniquely talented and each act is different from the previous. We bought the ¥320 tickets and the view was great. There aren't really any restricted views. I loved it do much that I bought the DVD... More

The skill of each performer is outstanding from show beginning to end. I personally enjoyed the girls performance on the bicycles. This is a must see experience while you are in Shanghai. Show starts at 7.30pm with a 10 minute intermission at approx 8.15pm and finishes at approx 9.10pm. Do not be late for beginning or after intermission as show... More

Such a reasonable price for a great night of entertainment. All seats give good views. We chose middle priced. Snack food available and drink. I booked on line on a separate site and saved money for group booking of 10. Full of action, acrobatics, jugglers, the girls somersaulting from bicycle to bicycle were amazing.

Fantastic show, encompassing acrobats, motorbikes, live music and technology. The acrobats were fantastic; some of the feats looked impossible! A few bits that looked truly dangerous, which was thrilling. We were in the second cheapest seats and we were right at ringside! It's such a small venue, I'd recommend just going with the cheaper seats.

Close to metro station but I think most people there arrived in tour buses. Lacks the artistry of a Cirque show but actual skill of performers is probably better. We sat at stage level in mid-price section with great seats. I wouldn't pay any more for "VIP" seats. Definitely worth seeing

It is quite good for tourists. Although you may not like 6 motorcyclists running within a small global of steel, it is still worth watching. The acrobats perform very well. worth seeing.

Amazing acrobats, live music and light show. All seats are good. We went for the VIP and sat right in front with the acrobats very close. Saw the most Western tourist of anywhere we visited but worth it.

The introduction of technology has made this traditional chinese entertainment a delight of constant wonder. I loved how the screen imagery complemented the skills of the performers. It was truly magnificent.

This one and half hour acrobatic show performed solely by young Chinese male and female acrobats kept spectators in suspense in every act. The on-line booking made through Asia Travel with hotel pick up & drop off was very convenient and timely.

We went to the show recommended by other travellers who settle in Shanghai already. Completely blown away by the performances from start to end. Performances include acrobatic bike-riding, ballet in the air, acrobatic trampolining, 6-motorcycle-ride in a world-dome. Top notch show. Really worth to see.
