The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular 'ERA Intersection of Time' has been performed since its debut at Shanghai Circus World in September 2005. It is unique and comparable to the tradition of the Broadway Musical. It is in fact a stunning acrobatic show combining traditional Chinese arts and modern technologies. The performers present Chinese acrobatics, martial arts and dance perfectly in harmony with the music, sound, lighting, and other special effects, which include a water screen. While you marvel at the highly proficient skills of the performers, the story of China's evolution from its ancient past to the future is told. Hence, the title 'Intersection of Time', as the viewpoint of the audience is set in the present between the past and the future. The performance provides a wonderful insight into China's ancient culture and civilization, with sections about Sinan, an ancient Chinese invention for telling directions, soothsaying and conjuring. There is a fantastic section showing an acrobatic program which has elements performed since the far off days of the Han Dynasty (206BC–220AD). With porcelain jars and vats as their stage properties the performers give an overview of Chinese porcelain culture and greater understand of the country's name of 'China'.Modern achievements that are also showcased include Shanghai Donghai Cross-Sea Bridge, Maglev Train, and Shenzhou 5, China's first manned space mission. From these, you can see the amazing development and bright future of Shanghai and the whole country. The 100-minute performance shows not only artistic skills, but also creativity. Aided by multimedia including vision, original live music, sound effects, smell effect, air conditioning and lighting,

Amazing Evening Entertainment in Shanghai

I take clients here on a regular basis. They always enjoy this amazing show and even though I have seen it several times, I always enjoy going back.

A very entertaining show with amazing stunts and acrobatics from the Chinese troupe. What I liked best was the finale where 8 motorcyclists rode in a steel cage. Paid 250 yuan per person for rather good seats. The cheapest seats were 150 yuan. The show starts daily at 7.30 pm and lasts 2 hours with a 10 minute intermission halfway.... More

I cannot claim to be an aficionado of such shows, as I have never been willing to pay the price for a ticket to any of the Cirque du Soleil tours in the USA, but I went into this evening with the idea that any trip to China that did not include a Chinese Acrobat Show was just going to... More

I have lived in Shanghai for almost three years but I unfortunately had never had a chance to go to the Shanghai Circus World. i thought it was all too touristy with the tour buses coming in and out and thought it was a waste of my time. My parents came to town and I decided to take them here.... More

Yes circus name is deceiving, saw the show as part of a Sinorama tour, very impressive, it was very much in the vein of Cirque de Soleil without the colourful costumes and crazy music. The motorbike trick in the wheel was outstanding, well worth the visit.

We enjoyed the show and it kept me entertained but it was certainly old style and nothing that i had not seen before, same usual tricks, clowns in between acts trying to be funny. Was watchable and kids would love it.

The place is rather small (about 15 rows) so don't bother paying for the premium tickets. You can see from any seat. We bought the cheapest ticket and wasn't blocked by anyone. Shanghai Circus World added a modern twist to the acrobatic shows. The performances were like all the other acrobatic shows we have seen around China but the use... More

The circus was replete with many awesome stunts which took my breath away. Their acts were beyond incredible and it was totally worth it. The place and toilets were pretty clean although the food and merchandise were quite expensive. Location was very accessible via metro which was about 150m away. Recommendable, a once in a lifetime experience regardless of whether... More

Beautiful Chinese acrobatics, crazy motorcycle show. All bind together with nice themed script play. Worth to see. Easy access by metro.
