This is a must do for anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time. Everything else you can save for the next trip if you are short on time. The tower is not just a landmark with a view, there are scores of shops, restaurants and events inside. For example, there is currently the Impressionists painters art museum on display. Along with that is the Museum of Light, which is really nice for those original Instagram photos. I have been here more than once, usually taking visitors, but love it every time. This is especially the time to go, since the virus has pretty much taken away the normal crowds that gather here.

It is majestic to see it up close. Wait until the lights are on. It is a breathtaking view. Moreover, the pedestrian bridge gives you the opportunity and space to take as many photos as you want. Perfect!

After waiting in line you take an elevator up the tower and can see the whole city stretching out, at night time it is lit up in all different colours and you can see every buildings along the river. You can also look directly down and see buildings beneath including the Disney shop lit up with the Mickey Mouse sign. Only problem is that the edges of the floor are made of glass, while other people happily walk on it or sit on it, however I was too scared to set foot on it. Because of the circular shape of the pearl you can walk around the room and see the whole city in any direction, including up and down. Apparently there is also a rollercoaster on one of the floors so there's much more to explore.
