I took my daughter to the Pearl Tower tonight, but was turned away because my new passport didn't have a entry stamp... My daughter was very disappointed tonight.

This is a must do for anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time. Everything else you can save for the next trip if you are short on time. The tower is not just a landmark with a view, there are scores of shops, restaurants and events inside. For example, there is currently the Impressionists painters art museum on display. Along with that is the Museum of Light, which is really nice for those original Instagram photos. I have been here more than once, usually taking visitors, but love it every time. This is especially the time to go, since the virus has pretty much taken away the normal crowds that gather here.

It is majestic to see it up close. Wait until the lights are on. It is a breathtaking view. Moreover, the pedestrian bridge gives you the opportunity and space to take as many photos as you want. Perfect!

After waiting in line you take an elevator up the tower and can see the whole city stretching out, at night time it is lit up in all different colours and you can see every buildings along the river. You can also look directly down and see buildings beneath including the Disney shop lit up with the Mickey Mouse sign. Only problem is that the edges of the floor are made of glass, while other people happily walk on it or sit on it, however I was too scared to set foot on it. Because of the circular shape of the pearl you can walk around the room and see the whole city in any direction, including up and down. Apparently there is also a rollercoaster on one of the floors so there's much more to explore.

Its a great place to see shanghai from the top. If you don't go up, you can still take picture from outside.

We had a great time there and took lots of cool photos. Really worth the price and waiting time. we bought tickets for 220 rmb which gives entrance to all levels. We waited 1.5 hour in a superlong line to get on the elevator. Even though it was cloudy it was still worth it

Although not the tallest observation deck you can visit (that would be Shanghai Center, just a few minutes walk from the Oriental Pearl Tower), this one gave plenty of opportunity to take in views of Shanghai.

The glass floor walk was a little unnerving but still cool. The ticket I had was a combination ticket with the tunnel ride under the Huangpu river, so it did not give me access to the highest observation deck (another 70m or so above of where I was). I did not bother paying extra RMB80 per person because the air wasn't that clear anyway and I already got a pretty good view from the 270m level.
