Head into the front doors and you can pay for different tickets depending on how high up the building you want to go, however don't pay for the most expensive ticket. You may think that the most expensive ticket takes you up to the top floor, but it actually lets you take the Sky walk, you walk around outside the top floor of the building with only a harness keeping you from falling. If you want to do that, I admire your bravery and it probably would be good fun, but don't accidentally buy the wrong ticket. Once you go up the building you can look down and see the countless floors of the huge building and can see the other huge buildings in Shanghai. You can see Shanghai tower, the Oriental pearl and other parts of the city. Wait until it gets dark and you'll see the whole city light up in all of its colours.

One of the tallest building in Shanghai. It offers a panoramic view of the city for which you have to buy a ticket. Note: Please go on a clear day only, otherwise you will not see anything. The building includes shopping area, restaurants, five star hotel. One can spend time on the tower and the shopping area. Adequate parking is available in the basement

This one has been surpassed many times. It did hold the record for the fastest elevators for a few years too. Worth the ride up for the view though.

What a stellar piece of design and architecture. Even with it's sky-scraping height, this building has beautiful lines that add interest and flair to it.

Definitely not worth the visit as the windows are blurred up and dirty which affects the views of the city skyscrapers. The corner of the windows have a metal stand also which further prevent you from getting a good view of the city lights. I guess Shanghai World or the Oriental Pearl Tower would be a better choice than this.

The Jin Mao Tower also is known as the Jinmao Building or Jinmao Tower, is an 88-story (93 if counting the floors in the spire) landmark skyscraper in Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai, China. It is 420.5 metres (1,380 feet) tall and is one of the tallest buildings in the world. It contains a shopping mall, offices and the Grand Hyatt Shanghai hotel, which at the time of completion was the highest hotel in the world.
It forms one of the World's three tallest adjacent skyscrapers (the others are the Shanghai Tower and the Shanghai Financial Centre).
The ride to the 88th floor is very fast and smooth. The views from the top are fairly spectacular, although behind glass which is regularly partitioned making it difficult to take extensive panoramas. However, there is a Skywalk adventure activity where you can go outside the glass and have your photos taken IF that's your thing (not mine, thank you!)

Even though entrance is not exactly cheap considering you ride an elevater and then walk around the building once, it is the cheapest of the towers. If you have good weather, the trip is worth it my opinion. You get a very impressive view of this immensely large city.

Our tour took us to the viewing area, which gave us impressive views of Shanghai. There were also windows, inside, allowing views down to reception, as this is occupied by a Hyatt hotel. They also do skywalks, outside the building, for the very brave! Film, of this is shown inside.

Optimum times to visit are probably morning, when the air is usually the clearest, or else dusk when you can watch the lights on the buildings in Pudong and the Bund gradually being turned on.
Enjoyable and not too crowded.
Pudong in general, and especially the design of this building, is stunning.

How much is the entry ticket to be on the glass walk? Can anyone help?
Also is it allowed to take cameras up there or they would take photos of us for any extra cost?
Thanks

There is three towers next to each other in Pudong:
1) Jin Mao, the smallest (382m) with beautiful inside view - no entrance fee
2) SWFC, the second (492m) which has an observatory on the 94F (right above the hole) with a glass floor, admission fee RMB120
3) Shanghai tower, the tallest (632m) which has an observatory deck on 118/119F (windows only), admission fee RMB160 online, RMB180 at the door. They will build an observation deck on 121F which is then about 5m higher than the deck on the Burj Khalifa (now 119F is 3m lower)
Cameras of all kind are allowed everywhere.
Does anybody know what’s the crowd like in the end of this month i.e after 25th of January? Are there specific timings for skywalk? How much does it cost? And are we allowed to take pictures in our own cameras, mobile phones etc? Please guide

Well, I was 60+ when I were on 88th floor of Jin Mao Tower. They might have changed policy.
Why not go to the Pearl Tower glass skywalk or to the new Shanghai Tower which I consider being much better than Jin Mao Tower.

Bien cordialement.
