The Shanghai Maglev Museum is a museum that highlights the history of the Shanghai Maglev Train and other related maglevs. Opened in 2007, it is located at the Longyang Rd Station of the Shanghai Maglev in Shanghai, China
A small museum which can be covered in ~30 minutes. Interesting place that teaches you about the Maglev technology, and also shows you the different modes of transportation from the past to the present.
Nice and free museum explaining different forms of transportation history up to and including the Maglev. Much of the Maglev information is technical and I wish I had brushed up on my physics. You can spend 30 minutes or more than 2 hours reading all...More

This place has been well thought out and put together and the Shanghai people are rightly proud of this amazing feat of engineering that they have commissioned. The whole museum lays out the developments and make up of Maglev technology and is extremely informative.
If you have any queries about the maglev the when you get to the Longyang station go down stairs to the museum.
It has the full history, models and display to explain the operation and a very good kids orientated section as well.

There isn't really any limit to the amount of luggage, when we caught the train there was plenty of room. There is a small luggage area near the doors, otherwise your backs should fit near your seat. I think the max weight per case was 23 kg as they can be stored in an overhead shelf.
