We arrived on the High-Speed train from Beijing. The signboards and directions are clear and straight forward in Chinese & English. Clean and bright station. The taxi line was orderly and although the line was long it was constantly moving. There were some 'taxi touts' standing alongside selling their services & trying to convince locals and tourists alike not to... More

It is easy to get to via taxi or subway and VERY large. Going through security can be tricky as people are in a hurry and push in front plus you have to watch your bags. Mine went through x-ray and the person in front grabbed it, could have been just to move it out of their way but need... More

Okay make sure you arrive at least an hour before your trip to purchase tickets and get a sense for the environment. The morning rush can be overwhelming if using for the first time. The train station is very organized but there is a lot of people buying tickets so be prepared to wait. The trains are clean and on... More

Despite its scale, it's easy in, easy out. Not sure what else to say about a train station. Impressive architecture, clean. Very modern.

We left Shanghai on the bullet train and so found ourselves in Hongqiao station in a Saturday in early November. The station is apparently the largest railway station in the world, and I can see how it can lay claim to that title. It truly is enormous. I had visited a few days before to get our tickets ahead p,... More

We needed to leave 4 pieces of luggage at the left luggage office (right hand side as exiting station, not the left luggage office directly in main square. No price list to be seen!! Two ladies (the 'rip off sisters') took our luggage & then asked for 160 PMB which is approx. £16, well over the top. I complained so... More

The biggest train station ever seen. That's huge and fortunately very well organized. You're linked to all biggest cities in China, Beijing included.

Trains are comfortable, depart and arrive on time and save you that extra waiting time in airports. Stations are centrally located and sometimes cost is 1/3 of usual air fares. Try it!

Impressive train station by all global standards in terms of size, technology, efficiency, shopping, connecting transportation, although English speaking staff and overseas ticket reservations could still be a lot improved. China has built the largest high speed rail network within 7 years and will almost double it by 2015! My business travel to our partner factory which took more than... More

Crowded as all in China, but with good services, as restaurants, subway access (recommended), taxis and just by the national airport.
