If you love posters and old Chinese culture of historical values, this is definitely worth a visit for an experience. You can even purchase some interesting collectibles for memories of old China history & culture.

The museum is located in the underground floor. The entrance free is about 20RMB/person. From my point of view, this place is a "must go" if you are interested about the history of China. I also recommand the shop which is connected to the museum....More

Visited the museum this morning and was surprised at how interesting, informative and how much there was to look at. Even though the museum is small there is tonnes to look at, covering a huge span of China’s past. It’s really quiet so you can...More

Excellent museum. You can understand everything for this period only by watching the posters! Excellent guides! Too pity being in the basement of a building though...

Finding this place can be a little tricky but well worth a visit. Certainly gives an insight into things from a Chinese perspective.

This museum exhibits posters from the Maoist period of communist China. Although it is so small, it gives an absorbing insight into China's recent history that often ignored by other big museums. Some posters are interesting. It is located in the basement of an unmarked...More

The museum is in a hard to find place in a basement of an old and unclean building. You will have a chance to review the history of China during Mao era (~1949-1976) through >100 propaganda posters. Overall worth a short 1-2 hrs visit

This place was surprisingly hidden, but very interesting both historically and artistically. There are 2 entrances into what looks like an apartment complex. Take the left one. I am including a picture of the entrance. Pictures are not allowed in the museum.

The residential and commercial areas around the
beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been
considered particularly fashionable by a majority of
Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do
choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw,
providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the
metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops
