Old style Chinese park

Living this area(walking distance to the park) for more than 15 years, visited for countless time, some alone, most with family or friends. More visit, more love. This is the most distinguished Chinese style garden in shanghai, even better than Suzhou's. Was a pure private garden with a top family living there at the beginning of 20 century, the design... There are many parks in Shanghai, most of them look the same and feel the same. Guilin park is of the older kind. Lovely walks and bridges. It is not big, but interesting. You can catch line 12 to Guilin Park Metro. It is not a huge attraction, but a nice place to spend some time and have a feeling... More

Found this park by accident one day while out exploring in the west of the city. It is listed on maps as quite a small park, but it has quite a bit of charm. The park itself is quite old, but has been renovated with new walk ways and areas to sit. There were the usual ornamental gardens, a Peking... More

I had been meaning to go to this park for some time now, but only got around to doing so the past weekend. It's was actually larger than I expected but, that said, is nothing huge. An hour or so is plenty, though you can of course sit and linger for longer. It has some of the same qualities as... More

Guilin park is not very large but it is quite refreshing when living in Shanghai. We spent 2h there with my wife and 16 months old son and it was relaxing. The landscape is very similar to what you would find in Yu Garden with probably a bit more grass parts. We found old couples singing, playing music, playing Chinese... More

Well a nice park to relax on a blanket , take a walk, have a picnic, picture taking in The park is pretty well maintained and clean. Not too many people during the week on holidays can be crowded. The fee to get in is 2 RMB not bad at all and worth it. Bring your camera lots of good... More

It is a small park , if you are in Shanghai only for couple days you can ignore this one. But if you insist on exploring each and every corner of Shanghai , you can visit there. It may take less than one hour to explore. It is very close to Shanghai Normal University. Also walking distance from Guilin road... More

A very cosy and "small" city (several millions) with a beautiful park, 2 great Pogodas that are lighted in the night, bridges over the river. A tea cup in a teahouse next to the water makes the sunset even more beautiful
