Went recently on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Weather was great so walking around the area was pleasant. There are some inclined rock pathways and stairs, it wasn't so bad though. Saw lots of kids (and even people bringing baby strollers) to the scattered picnic/bench areas in the resting spots on the way up. What was also quite an experience is... More

A very special park with astronomy museum and an observatory, A Catholic Basilica high up on the hill and a bamboo forest worth taking a walk.

It is certainly steep but the walk is nice and there is a Catholic Basilica and astronomy museum at the top.

Sheshan Forest Park is a relatively small park surrounding the Sheshan mountain (hill). It has well kept parts and it seemed there were lots of guides around the day I went. The Sheshan Catholic Basilica (a national monument) is at the top of this hill, while the Astronomical Observatory is on the hillside. You will find lots of people, mainly... More

Great spot to take the kids for a half-day trip. 3 hours walking around two little hills (about 80m vertical accent from parking lot to summit). No actual paths, just paved walkways. Wasn't too crowded when I went. Not something to do unless you live in Shanghai and looking for convenient ways to escape the urban jungle in my opinion.

Sheshan is a small hill in the songjiang district of shanghai with a church and short board walk on top. While the hill is a little underwhelming there is plenty to do in the area including a botanical garden, happy valley amusement park and Thames town. So definitely make a day of visiting this area but if you only come... More

Visited during weekend and while there were fairly much people wouldn't say that it was too crowded & some of the pathways like the wooden plank way from West gate to the South gate was very quiet and offered forest views which are so rare in Shanghai overall. Recommend visiting the hill top astronomic museum (entrance 12 RMB) too as... More

If you live in Shanghai, have a free weekend with nothing to do, and the weather is favourable, a brisk walk up Sheshan is a nice morning activity for you. An hour's drive from the city, I got to the North Entrance just before opening time on a Sunday (8 am). Entrance is free - you need to pick up... More

The view on the top of this mountain is very good except for the many day's were the air pollution is very high, there is litter everywhere you go, people just leave there bottles on the floor even if there is a bin beside them. There used to be an amazing bamboo made park which had tons of obstacle courses... More

Bored with all this mass of people and noisy environment? understand. If you think u can escape from it... No way. This unique hill is a landmark, it is a short exercise to climb it on rather well maintained walkways. On top of is there is a neogothic church, closed, for renovation. Maybe. The view is nice. But ... Your... More
