The overall experience was outstanding. The service was attentive but not pushy, and the facial itself was excellent.
Did their signature extraction of black and white heads. Surprisingly, my face wasn’t reddish or hurting after that. Felt really fresh and not oily looking.
Will be back.

My facial was customized to me after a brief but pleasant one-on-one discussion about my skin and my needs. The space itself was elegant and calming, and the products used on my skin were luxurious and incredible. My skin has never looked so good, and I now have a better idea how to take care of it. Thank you to Su and Amy for looking after me. I highly recommend treating yourself to a facial at The Sanctuary.

After ten days of intense travelling through China, just before a 24hour flight back home, I decided to treat myself with a facial treatment.
As it was my first time in Shanghai I didn’t know where to go, so I randomly googled “best facial treatment in Shanghai” and among all the choices I decided for “the Sanctuary”- 150mt from where I am, that’s perfect!
At the very beginning I was in Tianzifang, but once I entered the kind girl told me that everything was already booked “but no worries, we have another office near Zhongshan Park, let me call them for you to see if they have space!”
It seemed they had some space in the other office and so, 15 min later, I was there, in the other office, talking with the kindest girl about my skin type deciding which treatment to have.
Both her and the girl who treated me where so professional and kind: after studying my skin type and asking me a couple of questions about my beauty routine (which I don’t have, argh) I told them I trusted them with the treatment they thought it suited me best.
After that, I spent the best 75 minutes of the day and my skin was kind of re-born and I was ready to go to the airport!
In short, I really recommend anyone who needs to tone their skin up and have a moment of pure relax to go to the Sanctuary - you really won’t regret it!
