So many beautiful trails and sights to see and explore. Each trail has different scenery and geography. Make a day of exploring and being submersed in nature. Pack a picnic lunch and go for a walk, ride, or whatever suits your fancy. When the beach isn't calling your name, these amazing trails and nature are singing to you.

Well, the best keeps getting better! New trails make the option of loop; walks, runs, or rides more possible. New Powerline Trail section connects Rosemary Dunes and Catman Trails. New North Campground train make good connection with Park Road 2. More trail under construction at this time!

The Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail is a system of trails that is currently getting some additional trails and improvements. Some of the improvements include establishment of some loops with the closing of part of State Park Road 2. So if you start at the trailhead near the golf course, you can do a longer loop or a shorter (though... More

Trails are very good for walking or riding bikes. All a little different. They are adding more throughout the State park. Infinity bicycles rents great bikes and very close. Almost always see wildlife. Love it!

We've ridden all but one of the 7 trails in the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail. By far our favorite was the Gulf Overlook Trail because of of the view and trees draped with Spanish Moss over the trail. The trails themselves are paved and wide - easy to wide two abreast and chat while we rode. In December it... More

We go here quite often to ride bikes. It is paved, but no cars allowed. It is a perfect place to ride bikes as a family. There is a pavilion with a butterfly garden and rocks for children to climb on. Twin Bridges trail has two wooden boardwalks, so they think that is fun to ride over. There are so... More

These trails are great. They are flat, paved, well marked and good for everyone, even wheelchairs! On the Rosemary Dunes Branch, about 1 mile into it on the left (as you are coming in from Beach Rd. Rt 182, there is a new long wooden walkway that does a short-cut over to the Catman Road trail. It goes over marsh,... More

As a local I had no idea the island was like 80% park and the rest commercial area. I love going on the trail even on the days where there's not a lot of wildlife out and about. It's always so peaceful and I recommend it to everyone whether a local or tourist

Nothing special, nicely kept trails to walk, plenty of nature to see. An area for kids to play and a butterfly house is a nice bonus.

We discovered this very nice paved trail acroos from the condo that we stayed at. The map shows approximately 14 miles of trails. Go early as it becomes very hot because of the dense brush along the trail with little air flow. We saw an Armadillo on our walk and were told to be aware of Alligators. Next trip, we... More
