This square is alive with history. The telegram order to start the bombardment of Fort Sumter was sent from a building on the square. Rosa Parks boarded her famous bus ride from this square. You can see the State Capital from this square.

This is a beautiful Gothic fountain, but there's not much going on. Traffic whizzes by, but there's crosswalks so you're safe as a pedestrian, no worries. Check it out if you have a chance.

This beautiful fountain is around half mile from capitol building. If you are in near to capitol building it is worth to visit. This is having excellent brass details. We like it.

The vintage fountain was a watering hole for horses before and during hte Civil War; a wonderful brass fountain now occupies the site with a great view up Dexter Avenue of the State Capitol.
