My 70-something-year-old wife and I entered this place thinking we were at a museum. They cheerfully took our money and even gave us the child rate when we commented that there wasn't a senior admittance fee listed. After seeing the first couple exhibits it became obvious to us that this place was intended to teach children some science concepts. They... More

Start on the bridge, where you can drive a boat or ship (what fun!) then work your way down all five decks, fill with hands-on displays, little vignettes, films, nostalgic, educational interactives. Much more here than I expected and I wish I'd alotted it more time

We have been going to the Exploreum once a year for the past several years as we vacation on the Gulf Coast & we enjoy the IMAX & the different exhibits. This year we saw "Wild Africa" & "Dinosaur's Alive". Both were excellent & we marveled at the beautiful photography, especially of the animals in Africa. It is well worth... More

We spent about 3 hours and my kids (ages 12 and 10) really enjoyed it. The interactive exhibits were fun and interesting to them. The special exhibit about drugs and the effects on families was very interesting and eye-opening to my kids.

Went here on 12/27/16 and thought it might be packed with kids due to the holiday vacations, but it was not. It is mainly for children, but we did like the photos by Janet Macoska of rock stars. Noticed that there are areas where they can have demonstrations, but none were taking place when we were there and no signs... More

I went to see a exhibit on Guitars with a couple of young Guitar students and their parents. We spent over an hour in the Guitar exhibit and then went to the other exhibits that are there all the time. We spent over four hours there with out realizing it. There is so much to see and do you can... More

We were actually coming into town to go to the USS Alabama when I caught a glimpse of the billboard for the Exploreum on I-10. Easy to get to, easy, free parking, friendly and helpful staff, clean, and fun. No complaints. We didn't see the IMAX show so can't report on that. They did say that there are no commercial... More
