Lovely view of what it would have been like to live in luxury in the last century in Melaka. Our guide Emily was very informative and clear with a nice twist of humor. Well worth the entrance fee.

This is an interesting place to go since this place become roots of many chinese families in southeast asia. But they need more scenes and maybe some attractions, not only speech.

The museum showcased the way of life of the rich Baba and Nyonya of yesteryears. Learn how they blend the culture of the Chinese and the locals and came out with delicious food, fashion and the unique language.

Our guide whose name was Emily I think? was very good! she was very warm, accommodating and humorous. She shared many stories and basically gave us a crash course on the history of Babas and Nyonyas and how Melaka came about which was even better than the city guided tour.

We experienced the richness of the Peranakan culture and heritage (which is also part of my background) when visiting this museum. It is a long narrow townhouse with 2 courtyards which provide light and air circulation. Decades ago business was done in the front half of the lower floor, while the back half and the upper floor were living spaces.... More

The boutique displays inside the museum was well keep and look nice . Their furnishings reflect their lifestyle at that time.
