Malaqa is a wonderful old house situated in Jonker Street which is a museum as well as an arts and crafts gallery. Most of the old building is made of timber with clay roof tiles. Many of the items are for sale.

Had a wonderful time going through the Malaqa House. There's lots to see and they even have antiques for sale - reproduction and some are original too. Lovely courtyard in the centre. Best part is that there's no entry fee.

In a city with many antique, art, craft and souvenir shops the Malaqa House stands out as one not to miss. Staff (Grace) was helpful and knowledgeable about the history and significance of their older cultural icons and articles.

Located in a restored heritage shop house, this is a part museum and part business store. Lots of interesting antiques, replicas, furniture, carvings and artwork. Quite a large shop house, it is worth a visit if in the area.

It's great that they still preserve the structure of the original house. Decent display and collection of antiques. I especially love the semi open indoor garden. Since it is a small museum, would be great if they make the upper floor available for customers to...More

We visited the Melaqa House Museum and antique shop accidentally when we passed by Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, on 2 May 2015. A well preserved shophouse ,demonstrates an adaptive reuse of the existing structure, for a new use of art and antique business. A...More
