Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was worth a stop by but nothing spectacular. The tour is self-guided which is kinda lame. Much better to hear about the specifics room and what was used and done in each. A few chairs would have a note on them saying something but it’s pretty straightforward.

Thank you for leaving us feedback. It should have been expressed before the tour was given that they are self-guided because of COVID-19 precautions. When times are "normal" we do offer guided tours. We are doing our best to keep everyone safe while also remaining open to the public.

I visited Fendall Hall as part of the Eufaula Pilgrimage. Beautiful candlelight house tour. This home is pretty spectacular - granite floors, handpainted murals in the front hall. One unique aspect of this home is that you can climb the stairs past the second floor to the cupola. Pretty view. It was interesting to see how these old homes used air vents to keep cool by pushing the hot air up to the cupola. Wish visitors could go out to the widow's walk too!

Incredible restoration! We have been visiting this house for nearly 30 years as they restored it. It is well worth seeing.

We went there for a visit after the Lunch hour but no one was there--no cars in the drive, no-one answered the door bell. No sign saying: Out to Lunch, Gone Fishin or We're closed til Fall Come back then. We saw nothing that indicated it would not be open.
The person at the Chamber Of C. actually told us we should visit the house!
Odd.

Hi, we apologize for the confusion. It seems our volunteer that day forgot to put out the out-for-lunch sign. We are normally open Monday through Saturday from 10-4, with the exception of major holidays and occasionally for rental events. We hope the next time you are in town you will stop back by for a visit.

So me and mom went to Fendall Hall on the same day as Shorter Mansion and while the Shorter mansion was good, Fendall Hall was so much better. Fendall Hall has so much character to it and history and just the beauty of the house in general is amazing! especially going up the roof with spirals! It’s gorgeous and I would definitely recommend!

Fendall Hall is an old home built in the 1800's and offers a lot of local history to visitors. On the second Sunday lunch is offered at $20.. per person and well worth it, catered by a local resturant and co-mingled with locals in the area.

The gentleman tour guide wove an interesting story about the historic house and the area. He took you back to the time when just about all commerce occurred by water. The house itself has some well preserved, amazing wall and ceiling painting and plaster scroll work.

Mr. Young, the original owner, was a prominent citizen in Eufaula. Fendall Hall is also one of the best existing examples of domestic Victorian murals.
