Just a neat photo opportunity for anyone visiting the fine city of Enterprise. It's at the intersection to the courthouse and all of Main Street's shops. It's well lit for ideal night time photos as well.

If yiu don't mind crossing into traffic with small children and ensuring that they are stuck to your side the entire time so they do not get hit by a car, then this is a decent monument. The fact that it is in the middle...More

The city of Enterprise is full of history, and this Monument is a testament to that. They have a new mural that is south of the monument that helps to illustrate that time period.

The location of this monument is weird and if you aren't looking you will actually miss the boll weevil itself. It is small and perched on top of a massive white fountain in the middle of an intersection on Main Street. A lot of people...More

Sitting in the middle of "Main" street & College St this fountain is 10' to 12' wide with squirting water jets. In the middle is about an 8' tall female statue (white marble in color) holding, in her hands, above her head an overly large,...More

Although smaller than you might expect, this local treasure commemorates the boll weevil's huge impact on the local economy. It is definitely worth a little study and a quick visit, even if it is a little out of your way.

Great little monument, Im not sure why it's more important to credit a bug instead of George Washington Carver "The Farmer's Best Friend" who is the real reason for the recovery of the crop. Maybe it's a southern thing? Anyway, it's a nice monument but,...More

There is a statue of a woman holding a big insect standing in the middle of Main Street. A small plaque nearby says the statue was erected to express appreciation for the boweevil. This is (supposedly) the only monument built in honor of an agricultural...More

Strange piece of architecture commemorating an odd piece of local history. The Boll Weevil Monument seems also to mark the middle of Enterprise Main Street, a pleasant place to visit all on its own. Certainly worth a look. Looked very festive when I was there.
