We wanted to check out Gulf Shores for the day so decided to take the 8:00 a.m. ferry. Easiest thing we've done in years! Drive on... paid the fee and relaxed for half an hour until it was time to drive off. Same experience on the return trip. So if you're undecided...just do it!!

Worth taking the ferry over to Dauphin Island from Gulf Shores. While there be sure to visit Fort Gaines and the estuary. Relaxing beautiful ride over. Be sure to get to ferry at least an hour before departure as they fill up fast. We had a picnic lunch while waiting. Fun day!!

Ferry was right on schedule. Nice spring day for a ferry ride. Easy on and off with our bikes. Would recommend to anyone traveling in this area.

Easy on/ easy off. Grandchildren had a chance to roam about the ferry and they enjoyed every minute. Beautiful calm day. Surprised at how many oil derricks are in the bay.

The man at the store when you get on the ferry is a real jerk. Insulted people and make other people feel unwelcome.

The Ferry Ride was great, the kids loved it, and so did we. Staff was very professional and safety minded. Great experience.

The ferry ride from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan was great! A fun way to spend the day. Easy boarding with our SUV and 7 passengers! The costs was $46 on the way to Fort Morgan and $13 on the way back. Once in Ft. Morgan, we drove around and explored Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Perdido Key. The ferry... More

We enjoy taking friends who have never been on a ferry on this relatively short Mobile Bay ferry crossing from Fort Morgan, AL to Dauphin Island. You get good, close-up views of working oil rigs. You see fishing boats at work. And, best of all, you get some where with someone else doing the piloting. This is a really nice,... More

We were on our way to Florida, taking the coastal route, and the ferry was a nice break from driving. The ferry was on time and we were able to get right on. In addition to just walking around the car deck, there is a small elevated area that gives you an even better view. Unfortunately, no dolphins on our... More
