The origin of the name Maragogi is of the old Tupi that means "river of the cats of the bush", was chosen that name due to the river that bathes the municipality. The municipality of Maragogi is located in the state of Alagoas, in the state of Maceió.

One of the main tourist attractions in the state, the tourist attractions that attract most in Maragogi are the beaches of Peroba, São Bento, Barra Grande and Burgalhau. Beaches of natural pools, calm sea, white sands and reefs where it is possible to bathe next to colorful fish.

Another strong point in Maragogi is its rural tourism in the farms Cachoeira and Marrecas.

The place offers a huge area for practicing physical activities, recreation, skating rink, area for cycling and many other activities. The area is monitored by a security company. It has a small church in the middle of the park where it always has masses, weddings and baptisms.

Great walking trail, open-air gym, lots of structures for various ages of children, and a section for bike trails. This park is shady and cool, and best of all, it is safe.

This park is so very nice. People go there to take a walk , jogging, biking, reading, taking children to go to the playground ,having picnics and so many more things. This park is humongous. Lots of things to do and to see there. It is a great place to spend the day. I would not recommend it at night if you are by yourself. Some robbers mix themselves with the crowd and you will need to be careful about them. I highly recommend this place for couples with kids or for the ones that enjoy any of the activities that I have mentioned here. Great park.

Friendly place to go for a walk or to just grab a bite as there is so much freshly cut fruit being sold on boxes just outside this park. It's great been there and seeing so many birds going around freely in such an urban area. Recife should have more parks like this.

green areas in town. Many more parks like that are needed, and saddly, it seems that is not going to change in the near future.
